    Hello

The event Import interface in WordPress seems to have deconstructed. Instead of one drop-down menu for specifying origin as before, there are now six – the original plus one for each form of import. The information pop-ups don’t work at all, nor do the imports.

I’m trying to import from Facebook. I am using the fifth (unmarked) menu there as it seems to be the one for Facebook. But when I enter a URL and Preview, it never finds the events. I think the interface is just broken.

    Hey Andrew,

Welcome back and I hope you had a good week. We had an issue relating to what you’ve described and I’m seeing in the screenshot, but it was addressed in version 4.3.3. Can you update to the latest versions for all of our plugins and let me know if the issue still occurs?

If you do encounter the same behaviors after updating, please review the Testing for conflicts guide and reply back with what you learn. Please include your updated System Information as a private reply.

Have a great upcoming weekend. Cheers!

    Hi Hunter

My developer just tried to install the 4.3.3 version of the basic The Events Calendar plug-in and encountered some serious errors (see screenshot at this link: http://www.screencast.com/t/5VpSJ4Zr). It’s probably related to the fact that we’ve just switched over to using https for all our site pages.

When he updated the plug in, the admin pages became empty and it looked like some resource that was loaded by the plugin is not https. When my developer checked the the-events-calendar source code, he noticed that http is hard coded, they didn’t even checked if the site is https or http.

Worse, the whole calendar disappeared from the site, leaving error Page Not Founds and no events, calendar or map view, no nothing. We had to not only revert to 4.3.2 but also restore the whole site from our most recent backup in order to get the calendar and events back again.

Our developer strongly suggests we stay with version 4.3.2 until you can fix the issue with https. He’s too concerned to try updating the PRO or other plug-ins now.

So now it seems there’s two problems – as we still don’t seem to be able to do the Facebook or other importing anymore, due to the original problem of this post. Any suggestions? We can’t do any custom programming of the plug-in on this end, it’s against our rules.

Thanks in advance for any further help!

    Hi Andrew,

    Welcome back πŸ™‚

Our developer strongly suggests we stay with version 4.3.2 until you can fix the issue with https. He’s too concerned to try updating the PRO or other plug-ins now.

The issue of http/https was addressed in the 4.3.3 release, so the only way to get that fixed is by updating. You might want to install/activate a plugin such as SSL Insecure Content Fixer to help further assist. Additionally, I recommend updating our plugins with the default WP theme temporarily activated and all plugins other than ours deactivated.

Once we can get the http/https issue resolved, we’ll see if it then has a positive impact on your ability to import events. Please let me know how things go and have a good afternoon!

    Hi Hunter

Thanks – that all worked, and we can import events normally again as before. All issues are resolved.
