The description field doesn’t seem to be working. When you try to add a URL with the visual composer nothing happens. When you submit the form the description disappears and you get the error “Event description is required”
October 14, 2016 at 8:50 am #1176573AndrasKeymasterHi aehhub,
Thanks for using our plugins and welcome to the forums! I’m sorry you are having an issue, let me help you with this one.
So far I haven’t been able to reproduce this issue. Could you please run a test for conflicting plugins / theme? This can help us narrow down if some incompatible plugin or the theme might be causing the issue. Here’s a handy guide on how to do this:

Let me know the result, I’ll be waiting.

There were no plugin conflicts. It seems to be a conflict with the theme and the updated version of the Community plugin (which had worked for the last year). I can’t see what the problem is. Maybe something to do with javascript?
October 19, 2016 at 6:54 am #1179023AndrasKeymasterHi aehhub,
Thanks for checking that. Brings us a bit closer. Since it is a theme conflict I’m a bit limited in helping.
When I look at the page, then I see two errors:
The error messages are:
Error: no such method ‘instance’ for menu widget instance http://www.aehhub.org/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.12.4 Line 2TypeError: e is undefined http://www.aehhub.org/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/common/src/resources/js/bumpdown.min.js?ver=4.3 Line 1
The second one seems to be connected to us. I’ll look around on what this could be. Please hang tight.
Also note that you are receiving a
<span class=”objectBox objectBox-text “>Google Maps API warning: NoApiKeys https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#no-api-keys</span>
error on some pages.
I’l get back to you as soon as I can.
Cheers,

I’m sorry to keep you waiting.
I’ve managed to get some input from our developers. It looks like a very theme specific javascript bug. Unfortunately at the moment we don’t have a quick fix for this.
I’m going to file a bug report so eventually it will get fixed, however, at this moment I cannot confirm and specific date for that.
Apologies for this issue and thanks for your patience.
Cheers,
AndrasOctober 21, 2016 at 2:29 pm #1180965JoshParticipantI have just encountered the same problem with community submitted events not being allowed to submit due to the event description not being acknowledged (and then being cleared on the submission attempt). I can confirm that that this problem was not happening as of 10/19/16 17:19 EST as a user submitted a community event with my supervision using the visual editor on the page. Additionally, no plugins or themes have been activated or upgraded since that time to warrant a change in behavior. Having not run the latest Events Calendar updates, I then updated the Events Cal plugins, but it did not resolve the issue. After that point, I updated all other plugins, also with no change. The issue seems isolated to the visual editor, as I can get events to submit by using the text editor instead, however the visual editor is the preferred method. Oddly, the visual editor’s link editor also appears at the bottom left of the page now (only on the submission page); picture of that is attached. URL for the page is http://swcountychamber.com/community-calendar/community/add
Hope this aids in a quicker fix, as I am going to get complaints when I disable the visual editor option.
October 24, 2016 at 1:24 pm #1182111AndrasKeymasterHey Josh,
Thanks for sharing the details with us.
I would kindly like to ask you to open a new thread and reference this one. Not because the issue is different, but because 1) it helps us keep things clean; 2) it will be easier for us to follow. Thank you in advance! Much appreciated!
In the new thread:
Can you please also confirm that the issue is happening when you only have the Modern Tribe plugins active with the twentysixteen theme?
Would be great if you could also do a test for conflicts based on this and share the results with us.
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/Please also post your system info here in a private reply. That will also aid us in our efforts. Here’s how to do that:
