We have 4 event categories for the user to select from which show as check box options in version 4.4.6. After we updated to version 4.5.1 those options are not showing any longer. Instead there is a search field which doesn’t return any results. Can you please let us know what we need to do to maintain the check box options for event category with the 4.5.1 update.
Thank you.

June 22, 2017 at 2:00 am #1301580CliffMemberHi. The Event Categories now is an autocomplete select field. Here’s how it works for me: https://cl.ly/2E0S001f1z1y
If its autocomplete options aren’t working for you, please check if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)
If you don’t see any console errors when trying to use the Event Categories autocomplete field, I’d suggest following these recommended troubleshooting steps for your own site:
There might be some new updates available. Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
- Downloads / Version Numbers
- License Keys
- TEC Automatic Updates
- or TEC Manual Updates
- WordPress core updates
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.
If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Seventeen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.
Of course, we always recommend restorable database and file backups before modifying anything on your site.
If it doesn’t, please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG (which will create a file on your server at /wp-content/debug.log if there are any WP_DEBUG messages) and share any debug messages you see while trying to replicate this issue and doing other things on your site relevant to this ticket (such as visiting your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and anything else you can think to do).
Then, please share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts Mode) in a Private Reply. That will give me a lot of extra information to help troubleshoot this.
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.

Here is a screen capture of the error I’m seeing in Chrome. Please advise.
Thank you,
KevinJune 27, 2017 at 9:12 pm #1309872CliffMemberPlease hover your mouse over the “dropdowns.min.js:1” text to the far right inside the console. What file does it reference?
Alternatively, please provide a login and a link to view your community events form for myself.
Thank you.
