GuestI have a CSV file that is automatically generated and updated on our server every hour. Is it possible to use the Event Aggregator to auto update our calendar from this file every hour?

MemberHi there,
Thanks for getting in touch! While Event Aggregator supports scheduled imports from a number of sources, including Google Calendar, iCal, and Facebook, I’m afraid that the scheduled import of CSV files is not available at this time. All imports of CSV files must currently be performed manually as one-time imports. 🙁
I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news here! Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you should have any other questions or if there’s anything else that we can do to assist!

GuestWhen doing an import of a CSV file will the Events Aggregator duplicate events if we run a manual import 3 times a day?
Do you have any suggestions how we can get the Events Agregator to auto import an auto generated CSV or ICS file (even if the solution is a weird work around)?

MemberHi there,
As long as your main event details match up from import to import, future manual imports (of any type, including CSV) should not duplicate previously-imported events. If your event details should change on your calendar or at the source between imports, you can specify in your plugin settings which source should be given priority when updating events. You can read more about this setting under Event Update Authority on our Knowledgebase here.
If you’re looking to perform all of your imports via CSV, unfortunately, the only way to perform automated imports would be to develop something custom. This forum thread may provide some information to get you started in that direction, but please note that any customizations of this type would likely be a) extensive and b) completely unsupported by our team here in the forums.
Now, if bringing in your events via an ICS URL is an option that’s available to you, this functionality does already exist in Event Aggregator–no custom code or tricky workarounds required. You can learn more about how to set up one-time or scheduled imports with Event Aggregator right here!
I hope that helps! Thanks again, and let me know if you should have any other questions!

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
