Edit event not showing, events not listing under dropdown

Hi Forum Friends,
I have tried to find this in the knowledgebase but so far, no luck. I hope this is not a repost…
I have been using Events Cal Pro for some time and it worked great. this new problem just discovered even with all other plugins turned off. I cant edit my events…
when I go to an event in my calendar, the edit event button does not show.
when I go to the “events” dropdown, I used to get a list of my events, no longer.
End result is, there is no way to get in there and change or delete an event.
any thoughts?

Hi John,

Thanks for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear you’re running into this issue! It does sound a bit strange…could you please send me a screenshot of what you are seeing in the “events” dropdown?

From your WordPress Dashboard, you should see an “Events” option in the left-hand menu that will take you to the events when you click on it, where you can add and edit events. Are you seeing this, and if so, what do you see when you click it?

here you go, when i click on events, the list of events is not an option… each of the options under that menu brings me to the pages specified (the tags link brings me to the events clendar tags page etc.).

Here is a screenshot of the top of a recuring post. Edit event is also not at the top menu on the post.

Hi John,

Thanks for sending the screenshots! This is a bit odd. Did this happen after an update?

Can you try reinstalling The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro by following these instructions? This should not affect your existing events, but it is always a good idea to do a full backup beforehand just in case.

OK, I removed both the events calendar and events calendar pro and reinstalled them. I now get a 404 error when I go to the recurring event. Is there a way to remove the recurring events and recreate them? that might be a work around…
I am not really sure when this happened. Perhaps after the last update. I just discovered this problem a few days age.

So the problem (now 404 errors and now way to edit an event) is restricted to recurring events. I just deleted an event series and recreated it and get the same problem.

Hi John,

Thanks for reinstalling – I’m glad you’re able to get back into your events now! For the 404 errors, we have a guide on troubleshooting those that typically resolves most 404 errors for events pages. Can you try running through these steps and see if that fixes it? Oftentimes just flushing the permalinks (clicking “Save” under Settings > Permalinks) resolves these errors.

OK, the problem is solved… I reloaded the events Calendar and EC pro as you suggested. Then I purged the permalinks as suggested in this helpful post https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/fixing-http-404-errors/
It seems to all be up and running again. Thank you for your help.
