    Hello!

Our currency symbol in “General Settings” has reverted to the default ponds symbol and when I change it to the dollars symbol ($) it won’t save. Other fields in the general settings will save, but just not the currency symbol. Which I’m sure is confusing for our users.

    Help appreciated!

    Hi, Agnes.

    Sorry you’re experiencing this.

To be clear, you’re talking about the “Default currency symbol” option at wp-admin > Events > Settings > General tab, correct?

Also, I’m not sure what “default ponds symbol” means.

In the System Information Report you shared, I do see “defaultCurrencySymbol = $” so maybe it’s just an oddity in your browser? Maybe try signing out and/or trying a different browser while signed in.

    Please let me know.

    Hi Cliff,

Thank you so much for your reply!

Yes, I’m talking about the “Default currency symbol” option at wp-admin > Events > Settings > General tab. And sorry, I meant the default POUNDS (£) symbol.

Interesting that the system information reports “defaultCurrencySymbol = $”, it is still showing “£”. Currently I am on a different computer using a different browser (I use chrome at home and firefox at work), signed out then signed in, and the same phenomenon is still occurring. Every time I try to save the “$” in wp-admin > Events > Settings > General tab, when the settings refresh a “£” is still there and no changes have been made to the site.

I have used CSS to hide the prices temporarily until I get this sorted out. Any suggestions?

    Thank you again!

I tested changing to £ and back to $ and both worked.

Since it’s not working for you, I’d suggest following these recommended troubleshooting steps for your own site:

There might be some new updates available. Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?

Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.

If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Seventeen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.

If it doesn’t, please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and share any debug messages you see while changing tickets quantity, navigating your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and any other of your site’s pages relevant to this ticket.

Then, please re-share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts Mode). That will give me a lot of extra information to help diagnose the problem.

You might also see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)

Let us know what you find out.

    Thanks.

    Hi Cliff,

just wanted to give an update. i FINALLY figured out that it was WooCommerce that was causing the problem. The currency in WooCommerce (which I hadn’t set up because we’re not selling product yet) was overriding the currency in the Events Calendar.

Thanks for your time and help!
