ParticipantThe plugin is updated. Everytime we attempt to edit the currency symbol to “$” and saved it resolves to the pound symbol. The site in question is shuswapevent.com

ParticipantHey @James,
I’m sorry to hear this! When you say “edit the currency symbol”, can you clarify exactly which currency symbol option you are referring to? Share a screenshot if possible – you can do so by uploading the screenshot to Imgur.com, Flickr.com, CloudUp.com, or any similar image-hosting site; then just share the links to those images here and I’ll take a look.
There are a few different things you could be referring to, so I just want to be sure I know which one you mean; I will then try to recreate the problem.

Also, can you share your “system information”? Here’s how → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Thank you!

ParticipantThe issue is simple to understand. Go to the event settings page and under “Default currency symbol” the currency cannot be changed from the English pound. We are wanting the symbol to be “$”.

ParticipantThank you @James / David – there are numerous places where currency symbols are defined, so thank you for clarifying that it’s this specific location.
I just tested this quite extensively and cannot produce problems whatsoever – the behavior on your site is odd!
That unfortunately means that, at this time, the best course of action I could recommend for you would be to run through each step in this troubleshooting process here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/
After EACH STEP in that process, head back to Events → Settings in your wp-admin and try changing that currency symbol value. Click “Save changes” and then see if the currency symbol is properly changed.
Let us know what you find by doing this!
Thank you,
