In my website following things not working ,

    1. Countdown widget
    2. Admin bar not displaying
    3. Website sub menu not loading

All above issues occur in Event related pages , For ex : 1. Event listing , 2. Single Event

I just updated plugin to latest version , Above things were not working in previous version as well , I thought upgrade will solve issue but it does not.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your system information in a private reply ?

    Good evening Maximiliano,

Thank you for your answers and the system information.
Wow, this is not a fun problem to have at all.

By the looks of it, it seems like there is either a WordPress theme or a plugin conflict going on.

As a first step, could you please go through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website) and let us know what you find out ?

I am also noticing that you do not have the latest version of Visual Composer Installed (which might help).

    Have a great day!

    Dear Geoff,

I followed given instruction and now in some confusion situation, I got following :

    FrontEnd :

    1. Now I am getting 2 event pages , Like :

    A. http://www.indoorskydiving.world/events/ [Here , all my 3 given issues solved. but not loading event data]
    B. http://www.indoorskydiving.world/event [Here , My 3 given issues not solved , But it is loading all event data properly]

    Admin Panel :
    2. Now in Admin panel , I am getting 2 options for Event management , Please check attached screenshot

    Screenshot : http://imgur.com/O8173o6

So if possible then I need all data to display from page /event to /events. This will be solution for all my issues I think.

Please help me to solve this issue.

    Good evening Maximiliano,

Thank you for running the tests and I’m sorry about the confusion.
These are indeed some pretty surprising results!

If you don’t mind just to make sure we take the right approach for solving this, I have a couple of questions and suggestions for you.

During the tests (assuming you deactivated all other plugins AND reverted back to a default WordPress theme):

    • Were the issues still present during that specific time ? (where everything else was deactivated)

Since it is not normal that you should have 2 separate events menu in the backend, I am pretty sure this is the source of the issues you have been experiencing.
The “good” one should be the one at the top, the one below looks like a much older version of the plugin.

Could you please try the following things and check immediately if that impacts the number of the Events menu in the backend for you (you will need to check after each step):

    • Is it possible that <b>the Events Calendar </b>is installed as a multisite plugin at the master site level as well ? If so, I would deactivate it unless it serves some other purposes.
    • Can you temporarily revert to a default WordPress theme and tell me if you still have the issues and if the second Events menu is gone ?
    • Could you deactivate the The Events Calendar: Venue/Organizer Shortcodes plugin and see if that changes anything (this plugin is fairly old and might be broken) ?
    • Can you check in your WordPress theme’s folder if there is a folder titled tribe-events ?

    Have a great day!

    Dear Geoff,

Thanks for respond, Let me explain you what happening in which condition :

    1. When I switch to default theme , Deactivate all plugins , It just solve my menu issue.

    2. When I switch to default theme and all plugins are active, My none of issues solved and Getting 2 “Event” options in Backend.

    3. When I Deactivate The Events Calendar: Venue/Organizer Shortcodes plugin , It removed First “Event” option from backend, Stays with only 2nd “Event” options which is indicated in screenshot in my last message query. But here My All events data are attached with First “Event” option.

4.We are not using multisite concept or configuration here.

    5. In my wordpress folder , Yes it has folder with title “tribe-events”.

    6. If I Deactivate Plugin called “Events Manager”, It removed Second “Event” option. But here I am in same situation that my all given 3 issues as it is , Nothing solved.

Let me know if you need more information to assist.

    Good evening Maximiliano,

Thank you for all the answers. It is very helpful in getting closer to a solution.

What is happening is due to a particularly unlucky combination of things:

    1. The Events Calendar: Venue/Organizer Shortcodes plugin is not supported and at this point, breaks your website. I recommend deactivating it for good. Furthermore, since the data was being saved in 2 separate places this most likely means there has been some event data corruption/conflict between the 2 events menus.
    2. There is obviously a WordPress theme conflict with our plugins. I suspect this is caused by the content of the tribe-events folder in your theme and possibly in the functions.php of your theme. The presence of that folder means that some template customizations were done and it seems like they would need updating to work properly with the latest versions of our plugins. You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works. If you purchased that theme as is, I would suggest contacting the author of that theme to get an update on these customizations. If that’s not possible, I would recommend removing the folder from there temporarily (as well as removing any events calendar function call from functions.php). Just make sure you have a backup before you do.

The menu issue should disappear once you get rid of the customization or get it updated.

The countdown issue is most likely caused by the corrupted data between the 2 ways of handling events.
After you deactivate the broken plugin, I would try re-saving every single event in the remaining Events menu.

Hopefully that will fix it. If it doesn’t we’ll have to take additional steps on cleaning your data.

The admin bar not displaying bug is completely separate and should be easier to solve.
Can you tell me if the admin bar is missing from the front-end or from your WordPress backend ?

    Have a great day!
