ParticipantOn pages with the daily view, weekly view, and monthly view (via shortcode), there are multiple conflicts with displaying a Google map on the same page – the map does NOT display. There is no problem on single event pages.
Issue happens on these three pages:
https://thaliaumc.org/calendar/?tribe_event_display=day
https://thaliaumc.org/calendar/?tribe_event_display=week
https://thaliaumc.org/calendar/ (calendar is displayed via shortcode on this page only)

ParticipantAdditional info…this WAS working prior to most recent updates despite warning about multiple map APIs and it still DOES work on single event pages.

KeymasterHi Shay,
Thanks so much for reaching out!
As a first step, can you try removing your Google Maps API from everywhere but one place, such as your theme.
In addition, as a first step, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
This is usually because of:- A conflict with another plugin
- A conflict with your WordPress theme
- A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating
When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.
A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.
The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:
- Make a backup of your database
- Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)
Let me know how that goes!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantI have tried all troubleshooting steps and error still persists. And stating for the third time in this thread…THE MAPS WORKED PERFECTLY FINE BEFORE A RECENT TEC UPDATE.

KeymasterHi Shay,
Thanks for running through those steps.
I’m sorry to hear that things still aren’t working for you.
Recently, Google made some changes related to how Google Maps are are allowed to be displayed on your site. They have done away with keyless access, so you may need to update your Google Maps API key.
The following article can provide more information on those changes and how to implement them:

Let me know if that helps!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantPlease read my ticket completely. Maps DO work on single event pages. Maps do not work on calendar pages with or without a shortcode. The API key is setup correctly. Once again, this WAS working prior to a ETC update.
So it is clear…
– Maps DO work on single event page– Maps do not work on calendar pages (daily, weekly, monthly)
– Maps worked on calendar pages (daily, weekly, monthly) prior to an ETC update
– The API is setup correctly
Please address this bug.

KeymasterHi Shay,
Unfortunately I cannot yet confirm that this is a bug in our plugin, as I am unable to replicate this issue.
I am seeing errors on your site that say that the Google Maps API has been added multiple times on your site. Can you try removing the API from everywhere except one place? (ie in your theme and in our plugin)
Let me know if that helps!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantYes, I have already tried that and the map on calendar pages still will not appear. Thus, I am contacting you.
Again…THE MAPS WERE WORKING FINE BEFORE A RECENT TEC UPDATE AND MAPS DO STILL WORK ON SINGLE EVENT PAGES.
Please address this bug.

KeymasterHi Shay,
As I previously mentioned, I am seeing errors on your site that say that the Google Maps API has been added multiple times on your site. Can you try removing the API from everywhere except one place? (ie in your theme and in our plugin)
In addition, where are you expecting to see the maps appear? Perhaps you can roll back to the previous version from your Downloads page and take some screenshots of where those maps appear, so that I can get a better sense of what is missing.
Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantAs I have mentioned, I have tried that and it did not work. I cannot disable them while the site is live in the middle of the day for obvious reasons. I have stated repeatedly that they DID work prior to a recent TEC updates and they DO work on single event pages. I feel like you are simply not reading my responses and now, seemingly inferring that I am lying to you. I loathe contacting TEC support for these reasons, so please know that I have tried everything possible to resolve this without having to submit this request.
You are also failing to mention the other errors that are appearing. The duplicate map error has been there from day one. Once again, the maps were fine on calendar pages prior to a recent TEC update.
You can look at any single event page (or any other page on the website) and see that a map appears at the bottom above the footer. The map does not appear on calendar pages now – you will see a huge white space.
Please address this bug.

KeymasterHi Shay,
I apologize if there is a misunderstanding, however I am seeing a map in the footer on all three pages that you linked to in your first response:

Please let me know what I am missing so that I can assist you further!
Thanks,
Jaime
July 19, 2018 at 6:14 am #1578987Shay
ParticipantDoes not appear in Chrome or Firefox – that’s what you’re missing.

KeymasterHi Shay,
Okay, now I see what you mean. Thanks for clarifying.
Can you please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and share any debug messages you see?
Thanks,
Jaime
