I have scheduled 4 days of events that have RSVP tickets throughout the days. On some ticket slots the Confirm RSVP button does not show up for users to reserve the slot. I’ll provide the links below.

Confirm RSVP Button does not show:
    http://www.ucimaeprojects.com/event/day-1-w2017-progress-reviews/
    http://www.ucimaeprojects.com/event/day-2-w2017-progress-reviews/

    Confirm RSVP Button does show:
    http://www.ucimaeprojects.com/event/day-3-w2017-progress-reviews/
    http://www.ucimaeprojects.com/event/day-4-w2017-progress-reviews/

As you can see on day 1 and day 2, some of the slots were successfully take which indicates that the RSVP Button had to show up at one point for the users to reserve.

I’ve cleared caches already and that did not solve the problem.

    Thanks,

    Hi Terry,

Welcome back to the forums! This indeed is a strange issue to be having. Let me see if I can help out here…

I’ve checked out the problem on your site, and in order to help, I would like to get some more information from you, if I can:

-First, if you could please test for conflicts by following this documentation? Let me know what you find. This will help me determine how deeply we need to look into the specific configuration of your site, or if this is a bug. πŸ™‚
-Can you send Β me screenshots of the settings for one event where the RSVP button is working, and one where it’s not so I can do some testing and attempt to replicate your issue here?

    Thanks!

    Hi Shelby,

Prior to sending my first message I have already followed the instructions for testing for conflicts. I’ve set the theme to twenty-sixteen and turned off all plugins except for the ones needed for event tickets to work. The “CONFIRM RSVP” button still did not show.

I’ve attached a screenshot of one that worked and one that does not. It looks the same to me. Here are some of the things that I’ve tried to troubleshoot the issue on my own:
    1) added a new ticket to the day where the “CONFIRM RSVP” button did not show.
    2) moved a ticket from an event without “CONFIRM RSVP” to an event with “CONFIRM RSVP”.
    3) changed start of date sale
    4) added end of date sale

    Non of the above worked.

Do you have a workaround that I can use for now. I ask this because there are a lot of students wanting to set up a meeting time but the system isn’t working and the meeting dates are next week.

    Thanks,

    Terry

    Hi Terry,

I can’t see where the RSVP button is being hidden or anything, it’s just simply not there. If it was being hidden, I could give you a CSS work around, but that doesn’t seem to be the issue here.

It seems to me that you need to check for discrepancies between your settings for the time slots that have been taken already and the ones that are left on the days where the buttons aren’t showing up. Something about those slots is configured in a way that doesn’t generate an RSVP button.

Can you look into that and let me know what you find please?

    Best,

    Shelby

    Hi Shelby,

There are no discrepancies. In fact, even if I added a new ticket the days that does not show RSVP, the button still does not show up.

    Thoughts?

    Hi Shelby,

Days 3 and 4 no longer show the Confirm RSVP button. So now all days do not work. They were working before, but it looks like after students made reservations it stopped working.

I’m taking manual RSVPs now and closing off slots as I go.

    Please assist.

    Thanks,

    Hi Terry,

Thanks for the update of your issue here. So sorry for the delayed response on this one, I was out a bit last week. I’m still a bit baffled because I’m not able to replicate the issue in my testing environment, and we have no other reports of this issue.

Could you possibly send an email to [email protected] and attach an export of these events so that I can test with them directly? Please mention in your email that it’s for me and include the link to this thread.

    Best,

    Shelby πŸ™‚

    Hi Terry,

Thanks for the additional information. I’ll check in on the email thing. If you mentioned it was for me, you shouldn’t have gotten that response, though typically we don’t allow reply by email.

Unfortunately I can’t replicate this issue. I’m going to rope one of my colleagues in on this one, thank you so much for your patience here!

    Best,

    Hi Shelby,

It’s been a month and I still have not received a resolution to this issue. I’ve provided everything you’ve requested and have done significant troubleshooting on my end. I also offered what I believe is the cause of this problem. This issue has occurred again on one of the links I provided you earlier.

This issue has affected our school’s ability to effectively plan for our student’s education. Please escalate this to a senior support specialist.

    Hi Terry,

Thanks for your patience and apologies for the delay in responding—Shelby isn’t available right now and so as not to delay things further I’ll take over from here πŸ™‚

Question: are you using, or attempting to use, global stock for the events and tickets in question? If so, that could be the root cause of this as, for the time being, global stock is not supported by the RSVP ticket provider.

If that is the case, it may be some bugs have surfaced since that particular user interface shouldn’t really be exposed if you cannot take advantage of it–but let’s start by confirming if this might indeed be behind the problem in your case.

    Thanks!

    Hi Barry,

I’m not familiar with the term “global stock.” I create an event and add tickets for various time slots throughout the day. If it is a one on one meeting, I set the stock to “1”. If it is a group meeting, I set the stock to represent the maximum number of the people allow for that time slot. The “confirm RSVP” has failed on both occasions. Below are two days that I created as group meetings. If you click on the second one, the “confirm RSVP” is not there.

    Day 1, February 21: https://goo.gl/yQjvzz
    Day 2, February 22: https://goo.gl/Zy5eQr

As I mentioned to Shelby, I’ve noticed that the times the button failed there were students who signed up for the event more than once.

These mandatory presentations takes place next week and several students have emailed about not being able to sign up. Is there a workaround to this? It would not be ideal should students use a glitch in the calendar system as an argument for not completing an assignment.

OK – then let’s ignore that. I couldn’t see from your screenshots if that was a factor or not, but it sounds like it’s not visible for you and so isn’t relevant.

Is there a workaround to this?

I wish we were more easily able to replicate this so that we could get a firm handle on the issue. Unfortunately, much like Shelby, I’ve been unable to do so so far.

Are you able to perform our standard troubleshooting steps (essentially, running our plugins and nothing else except for a default theme and replicate the same issue under those conditions)?

Alternatively, if you have or can create a test site—which can be as simple as installing WordPress into a subdirectory in your existing hosting environment—and replicate there (or determine if you cannot replicate there), that could be a useful exercise and would avoid any disruption on your live site.

The ideal would be distil this down into a concrete set of steps that can be used to replicate, or else isolate a conflict (perhaps a problem caused by the presence of another plugin or your theme).

If that is not possible or does not get us any further, then sharing a dump of your database would be the next logical step. You could share this privately by uploading a zipped copy of the database file, or else via Dropbox.

Let me know if you are able to run through those steps and what the outcomes are.

Thanks again for your patience while we work through these issues πŸ™‚

    Barry,

    * standard troubleshooting steps: Shelby advised me on this and I’ve already done so.
    * test site: our site is hosted with wpengine and it comes with a staging test site. However, the current keys for events calendar pro and events tickets pro is limited to one site. Can you provide me with spare keys so I can do the troubleshooting?

    Terry
