GuestHi, I’m trying out your Events Calendar free plugin and I’m liking it so far!
I’m interested in purchasing the Community Bundle to build a event marketplace, but I have a couple of questions.
Do you have the ability for a buyer to ask the seller a question?
Is it possible to sell “vouchers” which can be redeemed against an event of any date offline? (In other words, the buyer would not book a particular date/time but could buy a voucher, say as a gift; and then gift recipient would arrange the date/time offline with the event organiser). Many thanks!

MemberHey Jimi,
Thanks so much for the kind words! I’m really stoked to hear you’ve been enjoying The Events Calendar so far and that you’ve gotten enough traction from it to consider building a system out of it — that’s awesome. 🙂
Let’s get straight to your questions…
Do you have the ability for a buyer to ask the seller a question?
Not directly, no. However ,if the seller has listed themselves as the Organizer of the event, then the opportunity to provide contact information is there that a buyer can use to reach out to a seller directly. In fact, if you have Events Calendar PRO installed as well, it will set up pages for event organizers.

I’m afraid this is a solid no. It might be possible that another plugin for creating coupons and vouchers will work here. For example, this one might be worth looking into. However, none of our plugins directly create or manage coupons or vouchers.
Does this help answer your questions? Let me know if you have follow-up questions here and I’d be happy to help as best I can. 🙂
Cheers!

GuestThanks so much for the reply Geoff.
Regarding the buyer to seller communication: do you think it would be possible to create a dynamic contact form on the event page itself where on submit it would contact the seller/organizer via the email address the seller/organizer supplied?
Thanks for the info regarding the vouchers, I will investigate further.
I have one further question: Is it possible for a buyer to submit reviews/ratings of an event after they have attended? Or are they any other plugins that play nicely with your products that you know of?
Many thanks!

I do think so, but it might not be as dynamic as you’d like. For example, you could use Gravity Forms to create the forms themselves (one for each organizer) and then embed them into the events as they are created.
The biggest issue there, to me, is that there is no easy way to associate the contact form submission to the event in question. In other words, the data picked up by the form will be captured in WordPress, but there’s no out-of-the-box way to link those submission to the events they are related to. Might not be a deal-breaker, but thought I’d note the limitation.

I do think this would also be possible, but again, would require the use of a third-party plugin to accomplish. There are a number of plugins that add a voting feature to posts, the trick being to find one that works with custom post types. Here’s a search that might help get that going.
Cheers!

GuestThanks again Geoff!
I think it might be worth having a go with the the Gravity Forms idea; if we can just get the message sent to the seller from the events page even without the event details, that could be ok.I’m really keen to purchase and get going with the build but I’m still not 100% sure our needs will be fulfilled. I need to prove to my colleagues it will work before we purchase, but can’t be sure until I’ve built it! Chicken and egg scenario!
I’ve read elsewhere that you could offer refunds; would that be possible if it I buy the bundle but it doesn’t meet our needs?
Many thanks again!

MemberHey Jimi — hope you had a great weekend!
Absolutely, we offer a full refund on all products (including bundles) within 30 days of purchase. That should give you plenty of time to give things a try. Hopefully it runs exactly the way you need. If it doesn’t however, we would be happy to help as best we can here in the forums and you are certainly welcome to return the products for a full refund within the 30-day window.
Did you have any other questions I can help you with before purchasing?
Cheers!
