GuestWhat is going on, since the community events update my comments have disappeared on my site. I don’t understand why this plugin should be so “deep” that it has to create conflicting code for comments.
Anyway, I guess my solution is to just delete the plugin and write all the events myself.

MemberHi there!
Thanks so much for getting in touch! I’m so sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with Community Events–regardless of the cause, we’d love to help you find a solution here. If you should have a moment, would you be willing to log in to your account and submit a post to the Community Events forum section? Unfortunately, we’re not able to provide troubleshooting or other technical services for existing users here in pre-sales, but our premium support staff would be glad to take a closer look over on the appropriate forum section.
If you can, please take the time to confirm in your post that you’ve run through our conflict testing steps prior to contacting us–this will save us a step and help us to get your issue resolved that much quicker! 🙂
Thanks again, and we hope to see you soon in the premium forums!

Guesthmmm I can’t really switch my theme easily to look for conflicts but everything else is up to date. I can maybe test it on another site, but I think I will have to simply stop using community events for now. I’m sure you’re right, it is probably a theme compatibility problem, but its troubling since jetpack runs our comments system. well anyway the main events calendar still works for me for the moment, so I guess I can switch to collecting emails for our community.

MemberHi Isaac,
Thanks for following up! Glad to hear that your core calendar plugin is still working great, at least–if you should have a moment to test your theme during a period of low traffic, or if you’re able to set up a staging site on another server, we’d be more than glad to work through some more troubleshooting with you. I do see that there are a number of console errors originating with various scripts on your single event pages, so that may be something worth investigating if you have time to poke around! 🙂
Either way, thanks for reaching out and for providing some details on the problem. We’ll keep an eye out for any similar reports in the community–should we uncover a bug on our end that’s worthy of note, you’ll be able to keep tabs over on our Known Issues page.
Thanks again, and let us know if there’s anything else we can do to assist!

MemberHi Isaac,
No problem! This article provides keyboard shortcuts to open the developer’s console for a variety of popular browsers–check to see if yours is among them! The console is an extremely useful tool for troubleshooting all sorts of issues on your site, and even if you’re not a developer yourself, the logs provided are often descriptive enough to give you an idea of where to look for troubleshooting. I hope you’ll find it a helpful resource in your current and future web work!
Unfortunately, as this conversation is veering well out of pre-sales territory, I’m afraid we may soon be needing to part ways. But fear not! If you should have any other questions or concerns regarding any of your plugins, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of my esteemed colleagues either on WordPress.org (for free plugins) or here on our premium forum sections (for active paid licenses). We’ll be more than glad to assist!
Thanks again for reaching out, and best of luck with your site going forward! 🙂
