    Using Community Events, is it possible to allow certain roles to post with moderation and some without? For example, a “subscriber” or “author” (for example) would post their event and it would be saved as a draft until approved by an admin. But an “editor” and “admin” role (for example) could publish their event directly, without admin approval.

    Can Events Calendar and Community Events do this? Thank you!

    Also, if a moderated user role user edits their event post later, will it go back to the admin for approval? (We need it to do this, rather than let them edit it without moderation.)

    Hi Lindsay.

    Thanks for your interest in our products, specifically our Community Events add-on.

    Looking into the code, it seems the Community Events “Allow users to edit their submissions” option, if checked, adds these capabilities to WordPress users:

    • edit_tribe_events
    • edit_tribe_venues
    • edit_tribe_organizers
    • edit_published_tribe_events
    • edit_published_tribe_venues
    • edit_published_tribe_organizers

    Therefore, I’d imagine you could use a plugin like User Role Editor (third-party, not guaranteed or supported by us) to assign such capabilities to the user roles of your choice.

    You might also be interested in browsing the existing feature requests for Community Events to see what’s not possible out of the box and to add your votes for ideas you want to see implemented. I believe there is an existing one for moderating their edits.

    Last but not least, we have a pretty great Refund Policy so you can buy one or many of our add-ons and thoroughly test them.
