I have a mini calendar on my page that has everything from a main category (“Music”) in it. I’d like to be able to switch to show only the sub categories (for example “Jazz”) of this mini calendar without having to reload the page or use an iframe. Is this possible?
May 18, 2015 at 8:43 am #963311BrianKeymasterHi Karl,
Something like this would indeed be possible, but would unfortunately require some code customization beyond the scope of support here.
You can try looking at our Themer’s Guide and seeing how you can edit templates including the Mini Calendar:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/
Beyond that we can answer a question or two.
Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
Thanks

Something showing and hiding div:s? http://www.w3schools.com/jquery/jquery_hide_show.asp
Anything to point me in the right direction would be useful.
May 18, 2015 at 2:02 pm #963433BrianKeymasterIt is much more involved then showing and hiding divs unfortunately.
You would have to edit templates, create custom queries, and custom scripts all of which could take at least intermediate level knowledge of PHP, Javascript, and jQuery.
Doing something this large I do not have a plan for or any coding to help get started beyond showing you where the mini calendar template is following the themer’s guide.

Rather new to the ins and outs of the wordpress universe though but I would be able to sort this, it would probably take a long time though and I think I can work around the reload.
More interested in getting this sorted or quick-fixed as it turned out to be a massive problem for the data I need to input: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/additional-fields-in-csv-import/
May 19, 2015 at 12:40 pm #963682BrianKeymasterHi Karl,
Unfortunately, for both these issues you are looking for features that our plugin does not currently have and it is beyond the support we can provide to help out much more on either customization.
It is possible we could add these features, but I do not have a timeline when that might happen if at all.
Although we would hate to see you go I can understand this can be a deal breaker as it is missing features you need for your site.
If that is the case we do offer refunds within the first 30 days. To request a refund please follow our policy outlined here:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/refund-policy/
And we can take care of it. Thanks
June 29, 2015 at 5:59 pm #973733BrianKeymasterSince I haven’t heard back from you here, I’m going to go ahead and close out this thread. Feel free to start a new thread if you have further issues. Thanks! 🙂
