We’ve this issue:
Community Events – Add venue or organizer fields no longer available.
And we’re running the latest update (3.12.6 on Events Calendar and 3.12.1 on Community Events).
Help!
Thanks

ParticipantHowdy Ken,
That’s interesting! The specific issue you linked to was fixed in the latest versions, but obviously we are seeing something similar on your website. Are you noticing that there is a difference between being logged in or not? Are you using anything to forceSSL on your website, perhaps for admins?
Two things could help get to the bottom of this quick:
- Could you share your system information here? If you go to WP Admin > Events > Settings > Help, and then copy/paste the sysinfo into a private reply I can dive in and see if anything stands out.
- Second, a conflict test is quite likely to reveal the culprit here, so that we can then cut straight to finding a fix for the culprit. In particular if your theme uses theme-overrides it could see an issue like this. Would you mind trying a conflict test (click here for guide)?
Cheers!

ParticipantThanks Brook. Private reply to follow with info but the answers to the basic questions are:
1. No SSL on this install. We’ve recently moved the hosting to WP Engine (not sure if that’s useful info or not).
2. Yes, logged-in users (at least admins – not sure of other levels, we don’t really use them) can see the “add new…” options fine.
Regards
Ken

ParticipantThank you for sharing your system info, that revealed the culprit. You are actually on version 3.12.5 of The Events Calendar (but 3.12.6 of Pro). You should update The Events Calendar to 3.12.6 and the fix container therein should set you up. https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/the-events-calendar.3.12.6.zip
Note, I have reason to believe this bug was reeintroduced in 4.0. *sigh* The reason for that has to do with our version control. For now if I were you I would stick to the latest versions of 3.12.x. This should be patched for good here shortly in 4.0 hotfix.
Thanks for your patience. Does updating to 3.12.6 fix things for you?
Cheers!

ParticipantThanks – that has sorted it. Sorry I didn’t spot the version problem with the basic plugin!
Let me know if this is working in 4.0 – we’ll hold off updating for now.
All the best
Ken

ParticipantI will do that Ken. I am adding your thread to the list of those affected, that way when we patch it someone should come by and notify you that the release is ready.
Cheers!

MemberHey there,
We re-tested this issue and all seems to be working smoothly in the latest versions of the plugins. Please do update if you haven’t already and see if it is resolved for you as well.
If the issue is still there, please do open a new thread, reference this one and provide some new details for testing and we’d be happy to check on it again with fresh eyes. 🙂
Thanks for your patience while we worked on this!
