This seems to be a fairly common issue. A quick Google search brought up quite a few results that I read through, but unfortunately offered no solution. Here’s what I have done:
- Cleared Cache
- Tried to connect to facebook
- Deleted the app from my Facebook settings
- Tried to “renew” multiple times
- Tried doing everything in multiple browsers, even incognito mode
Other info:
- It does not show a “disconnect option”. Only the option to connect.
- For whatever reason, it says the token expired 2 months ago.
- I can successfully “login” with facebook. It does not hang and successfully redirects me back to the API settings page
- However, the notification to “renew” never goes away.
- When I try to to import via Facebook, it says that I need to login with Facebook.
- …back to starting all over….
WordPress and all plugins or up-to-date.

Thank you for reaching out to us! I’m very sorry about this issue you are experiencing, let me help you to solve it!
I’ve ran a test and voluntarily disconnected the Facebook Token from my own site and reconnected again: everything is working as expected, I couldn’t reproduce the issue you are experiencing from here.
Can you please make sure that you are not trying to connect to Facebook via an incognito window and/or while having a Privacy Badger extension enabled in your browser?
If the issue persists, can you please run a conflicts test and temporarily disable all of your plugins (except Modern Tribe Plugins) and try to connect to Facebook again?
I’ve reviewed our internal bug reports and found one associated with this issue you are experiencing, but it was fixed by our developers last month. Please let me know your test results so we can further investigate your case.

I’ve already done all of that. I guess it doesn’t show, but before I submitted my ticket I did check the boxes that I had already tested with the default theme and disabled all plugins except TEC plugins. Still not working. It seems that there were a few more tickets submitted yesterday in the Event Forum regarding the same issue.

Surely this is not just coincidental, right? I’d be happy to test out anything else you’d like me to try. I have both a production and staging environment.

I’ve just talked to one of my colegues and he said he was unable to connect to Facebook last night as well, but at this moment everything is working as expected.
Can you please try to connect again and let me know if the problem is solved for you as well?
