Participant1) Cannot get photo view to show anything. I have defaulted one of the options to be Photo View, set two events in August with ‘featured photos’, yet nothing shows up when I choose Photo View on the Calendar page. No text or photo, just blank. Instead, I get a blank screen with “Show only the first upcoming instance of recurring events”. 2. Incidentally, I need that to go away, and see nowhere to make that so. The event is not part of any recurrence. I had a recurrign event but deleted all of those events. 3. And also incidentally, and possibly related to all this, if you look at my screenshot, the page says “events for August 1 – March 13th.” ?? I don’t want it to say “through” any particular date, or if anything, it should say for the month. That does not make sense, and I also need that to go away.
The events do show up in both month and list view, however. I do not see any guide or troubleshooting on this.
Help?
Thanks.

MemberHello Bridget
There are 2 areas of information that I need to review to help you further.
1.Can you start by going through our Testing for Conflicts Guide https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/? I am wondering if you might have a plugin or theme conflict. Begin by deactivating all other plugins, using a theme such as Twenty Seventeen https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/, and see if the issue still persists. Also, double check for any other updates available (Dashboard » Updates).
2.Please share your System Info https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/ with us as well.
Please let me know if the issue still persists after these tests.
Thanks

ParticipantHello Courtney – I did only the first step (activating the base theme – mine
was twentysixteen), checked it quick before I went through the business of
deactivating all my plugins, and fund that the Photo view worked. It appears
to be a theme conflict. Obviously, I had to switch it back, as this is a
highly customized theme we have for our organization. The question now is: Does this mean I cannot use the photo view? Or are
there other solutions in the case where a theme conflict is identified. I
want this answer before I do any of the other requested items.July 19, 2017 at 11:15 am #1323474Courtney
MemberGood thinking Bridget.
Are you able to reach out to the theme developer regarding this issue?
I’m sorry the Photo View’s sort order is causing you confusion or poor user experience. Others have had similar feedback in the past.
The Photo View uses jQuery Isotope to output the items in a Pinterest-type grid but not in a rigid row-column type grid.
You can view our Demo Site’s Photo View to compare its sorting to how your site is working.
That information could be helpful for the theme developer to take a look at.
Thanks

Participantlike anyone, I suppose i could reach out to the theme delveloper since I know who that is. I’m afraid that sounds like a waste of my energy, I have an event in August that I need this for.
Also, can you please address my other issue in the initial request: All views of the Events Calendar now show the following text, ““Show only the first upcoming instance of recurring events”. even though I don’t have any recurring events. So that is very confusing to me, and my visitors to the page. How can I make that go away?

MemberHello Bridget
I’d be happy to address that issue. Can you provide me with a link to your site and send along your System Info https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/?
Unfortunately as this is a theme conflict, there isn’t much more we can do to resolve the conflict on Photo View.
Thanks

ParticipantIt is a big bummer on the theme conflict. I may request a refund depending on how all this shakes out. I actually don’t think I am able to use any of the functionality. Thanks, though.
Outstanding issue you’ve requested info for. I want thsi checkbox that says “Show only the first upcoming instance of recurring events” to go away because I have zero recurring events. I’ve attached a screenshot, and here is a link to the page, with “List View” chosen:

MemberHello Bridget
When I visited your link, I was unable to see the recurring events box displayed. However, you can toggle that setting by going to Events » Settings » General » Front-end recurring event instances toggle.
Please let me know if that resolves the issue.
Thanks
Courtney 🙂July 20, 2017 at 10:37 am #1324003Bridget
ParticipantI had to disable the Pro altogether because nothing is working how it’s
advertised for Pro. Thanks for the settings, that was all I needed.July 21, 2017 at 8:23 am #1324347Courtney
MemberHello Bridget
I’m glad that worked for you. I do hope your theme is able to resolve the conflict. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.
Thanks
