GuestHi,
I wrote this question earlier:How to add an event that automatically goes in a calendar that displays thus..
I’m ready for my client to buy your plugin so we can set up her ticket system.
She wanted to make sure it can handle these requests she has:1. I need a student to be able to read about a course easily or see it on the calendar list of courses, and register easily without confusion about multiples of the same course at different locations. ((Ie I could have FUndamental of prenatal massage listed 3 or 4 times if I”m scheduled that far in advance, but at different locations. I could have listed up to 10 classes at once (or more if the ONLINE courses will be in the same shop)—so I need it to be very clear which one they are registering for. I”M not sure if the current shop will work well for that. I”m afraid it will be overwhelming with so many products, and classes, and so many of almost the same.
2. I need the class registration to be not just payment, but to collect certain info: Name, address, phone, email, license type and #, name of course & location, date, how they found out about the course—<online search, word of mouth, school, etc>
3. Courses need to show date and location, and then disappear automatically after the date of the course passes. I don’t want to have to go on to take them off every time.
6. Other options: I’d like to be able to say how many more slots available in the class, or FULL, or EARLY REGIstration PRICE—on the courses.
Thank you so much for your help!!

MemberHi Evelyn,
Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us again! I’d be more than glad to help out with your client’s requests here. 🙂
- Depending on what format your client and your client’s student body might prefer, there are a few ways that you might approach this problem! One might be to display your upcoming events in list view by default, which would give students an expanded listing of all events, including those that fall on the same date. (You can see an example of how list view looks here on our WP Shindig demo site!) You might also consider creating just one event for all identical classes on the same day regardless of time or location, then create multiple tickets for that event, with the tickets corresponding to different times and/or locations. This method would reduce clutter on all calendar views while still allowing students to register for specific times and locations for their preferred classes.
- When creating your tickets to attach to an post, page, or event, you can add as many additional fields for gathering this type of information as desired. Our Attendee Information Knowledgebase article provides some more information on how these fields work and how to create and save field sets.
- Events that have passed will display as grayed-out on your calendar (and you can change this styling if desired), and students won’t be able to register for these dates, so there’s no risk of accidental registrations for past events. That said, if you truly wish to delete old events from your site entirely, a third-party plugin such as this one may work just fine for your needs.
- You can create as many ticket types as desired for “early bird pricing” or other such pricing tiers. For tickets that are limited in quantity, the total and remaining quantity will display by default, and tickets that are sold out will also display as such. You can read more about the ticket creation process on our Knowledgebase here. If you’d like to change the wording to display “FULL” or other similar text, this is an easy customization to make, as well. 🙂
I hope that helps to address some of your client’s concerns here! Thanks again for your interest–please don’t hesitate to follow up if you should have any other questions!
