GuestHello!
I would like to create an event calendar on my website that has the following:
I work for a theater company and we have many productions. We also have auxillary events for the productions.
We would want the name of the show to be a link back to a page on our site. I believe I see how to do this here:
https://theeventscalendar.com/extensions/make-event-titles-link-to-the-event-website-url/
Then I would like a “Buy Tickets” button that goes to our third party ticketing system URL.
The result would look something similar to the attached images.
The example shows the week, but I would like to have the user have the option of seeing it in a day/month/week format.
On each of the event pages on our website, I would like to be able to do the following:
1. In a sidebar have a widget of the dates with a “buy tickets” link that goes to the third party ticketing website. This could show the next week’s worth of dates or have a minicalendar display that allows someone to click on a date and select a performance.
2. Be able to have a link on that event page to the calendar so it shows only the events associated with that run of a show. I think I would do that with a tag, correct? I’d tag each event (each performance of a show would be an event) as well as any auxiliary events. Then the unique URL for that calendar tag would be the url that filters all events (performances and auxillary that I have entered in) associated with a specific production.
The last thing I would like to be able to do is the following:
Enter in all the links to our third party ticketing system for all the productions (7 productions, 30 performances each so a total of 210 events), and have the link say RESERVE instead of buy tickets. Then. when the tickets go on sale be able to flip a switch and the links become “BUY TICKETS” instead of “RESERVE”.
Is this possible with a Pro License of The Event Calendar?
Thank you,
Nick

MemberHi, Nick. Thanks for your detailed question.
It sounds like you’ve got a good handle on everything.
Events Calendar PRO would be required to obtain some of the extra views (e.g. Week, Map, etc.), but there would be some custom coding required to get everything you’re wanting.
Last but not least, we have Bundles and a pretty great Refund Policy so you can buy one or many of our add-ons and thoroughly test them.
I hope this info helps. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

GuestThanks, Cliff.
I don’t really have extensive coding experience – more that I know HTML and CSS.
It seems that I need the following plugins:
The Events Calendar PRO
FilterSince OvationTix (our third party ticketing company) has an API – it seems I may be able to import it in there since that is a beta function. Do you think that may be possible?

Thanks!

MemberI’m not following your line of thought there, but you may want to ask your developer or reference our <u>documentation and list of known customizers</u> because we cannot provide such in-depth customization support.

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. Thanks so much!
