Hello, since a couple of days, when I click on the links (in the main menu of my site or even in the main page of the settings of the plugin events calendar itself) to see the calendar, it shows nothing : an empty page! The evenst are accessible but the calendar itself isn’t no more visible. Could you help me to resolve this problem? I have events calendar Pro. Thanks!

    Sorry to hear this, @Christophe!

    1. You mention, “since a couple of days.” Can you think of the last change you made on your site before this happened? Any theme, plugin updates, etc.?

    2. If you head to the admin menu called “Pages” in your site’s wp-admin, do you find a page there whose title is “Events”?

    3. Can you post your full, un-edited System Information here to help us investigate? Here’s how → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

    4. What are your site’s permalinks settings? You can find this in Settings → Permalinks in your site’s wp-admin. Are they set to /%postname%/, for example?

Thank you in advance for providing all four pieces of information here!

    Sincerely,
    George

    Hello George,

    Thank you for your answer.

1°) The last changes that I’ve made on the website is the installation of the TinyMCE Advanced plugin and the addition of a link the a google+ page. The last update made was, I think, the update of the Slider Revolution plugin. I have desactivated this plugin : it didn’t resolve the problem of the eventscalendar plugin. Could it be the last update of the eventscalendar plugin that caused the bug?

2°) Yes, I find a page whose title is “Events”. This page seems really strange : the page is absolutely empty… The permalink of the page is http://sanctuaires-beauraing.wpserveur.net/event-directory/ This is the only information on the page. And when I click on this permalink, it shows, like always, the empty page that I have shown you in my first post.

4°) The permalinks are set to http://sanctuaires-beauraing.wpserveur.net/exemple-article/ The possibility that you mention (/%postname%/) is just the next one, but is not the one that is choosen (see screenshot).

3°) Here is my system information :

Thanks for all of this information!

I would recommend deleting the page titled “Events” on your site, because it is titled “Events” and is thus trying to use the slug /events.

But The Events Calendar is trying to use the slug /events too, to generate the generate calendar.

The Events Calendar is NOT an actual page—and so if you add an actual page with the same slug, it can cause the sort of issues you describe here.

Delete that page and let us know how things behave after that.

    Thank you!
    George

I have deleted the page “Events” and empty the cash, and I still have the same problem.

    Thanks for testing that, @Christophe!

I’m sorry that deleting the page did not help. 🙁 Since this doesn’t change things, the next step from here is to do the full set of troubleshooting steps outlined here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

After EACH STEP in that process, check on the issue: do you get the same behavior?

Let us know what you find!

    Thanks,
    George

    Hello George,

    Thank you for your help.

I’ve followed each step and found a problem with the theme of my site : spiritual. When I have changed the theme and choosen TweTweenty Fifteen, the calendar appaered very well. I then deactivated all the plugins but not the Eventcalendars plugin and reactivated my original theme : the calendar didn’t appear. And this problem remains when I activate again the plugins.

So what can I do to solve this (new) conflict between Eventscalendar plugin and the spiritual theme. The Evantscalendar plugin is given with the spiritual theme when you buy it!

    Thanks,

    Christophe

    Hello George,

I add two sreenshots of the site of the theme Spiritual, where they write that the Eventscalendar plugin is compatible with their theme and even given with the theme (not the Eventscalendar Pro but the other one).

Should I delete the Eventscalendar plugin and then reinstal it?

    Thanks for your help,

    Christophe

    Thanks for sharing this information!

Your testing reveals that the problem is indeed the Spiritual theme.

You mention that our plugins were included in the theme—we do not endorse or any specific theme or have partnerships with any, and it is generally a bad thing for plugins to be included into themes, so this inclusion of the plugins was purely a choice by the theme author.

With that in mind, I would recommend deleting any theme-included version of any plugin. Then replace it with the official, real version of the plugin.

You can get The Events Calendar here, and Events Calendar Pro or any other premium add-on here.

If issues persist even after installing the official version of the plugins, then unfortunately your best course of action is to contact the Spiritual theme makers for support on why their theme is breaking the plugin features.

    Sincerely,
    George

    Hello George,

    Thank you for your answer.

I have contacted the support of Spiritual theme and they have resolved the problem.

They write : “Event model – diff. template was selected and that’s why it was showing blank page :)”

I still have one other problem with the Pro version of Eventscalendar. When I now choose the page week, or photo, or map, the header image of the page is not showing. When I choose one of the other options (month, list or day), the header image appears.

Could you help me to resolve this other problem?

    Thanks,

    Christophe

    Hey Christophe,

Thanks for the follow-up. I am glad you were able to resolve the first issue.

As for the other theme issue, this, too, is a theme-specific issue. I do not know why it happens, unfortunately, and you may need to work with your theme author for a more robust and true solution to this problem.

However, I took a look at this issue on your site and do have a suggestion for a bit of a temporary solution. Please note that this solution will only work with the current background image there. If you want to change the image or add new images, you will have to modify the code I am about to share on your own prerogative or seek assistance from your theme author or a professional developer.

As for the code itself, here it is: try pasting the code in the following Gist into your theme’s functions.php file ? https://git.io/vwj2I

    I hope this helps!

    Cheers,
    George

    Hello George,

Thank you for your answer. I have contacted the theme author and they have found a littel bug in their theme concerning Eventscalendar Pro version. They have corrected it and now everything is perfect, with free version and Pro version of Eventscalendar plugin.

I thank you for your support and will give you best rating.

    Thanks,
