Hi,
When in list mode, the calendar is fine on page one but as soon as you click on “more events” the subsequent pages do not go in date order – instread recurring events are batched together.
Is there a way of fixing this please? It all displays fine when you choose to only view the first instance of an event.
On a related note, is there a way so that a long term event can update so it shows in the current month rather than appearing in its own month that may have long since gone? For example if an exhibition runs for a year from 1 April 2016 – 1 April 2017, it would currently mean that the calendar would have a April 2016 section at the top which just looks like you have out of date info.
Thanks.
February 3, 2017 at 11:34 am #1229103AndrasKeymasterHi James,
Thanks for using our plugins! I’m sorry that you are having issues with the listing of event.
To be able to support you, could you please share your system information with me? Here’s a handy guide how you can do that: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
It would also be great if you could run a test for conflicts based on this guide.
Once I have that we can start digging further.
Thanks and cheers,

February 6, 2017 at 2:30 am #1229847NickParticipantHi,
First issue has been resolved. I had seen advice regarding the Avada theme to use a plugin to manage the order of my portfolio posts. It would seem that this plugin affected the event order too. Plugin deactivated, another solution found to my portfolio order and all working correctly.
So that still leaves me with my second problem. I know I could set a long running event as a series of recurring events but that would result in lots of events clogging up the diary and whilst these can be switched to only showing the first that would impact on other recurring events with fewer instances when I do want to show them all.
February 7, 2017 at 3:44 am #1230441AndrasKeymasterHi James,
Happy to hear that got solved. Seeing your plugin list I would have also pointed to the Post Types Order plugin first.
As for your second question I found a snippet done by one of our team members, which should help you achieve what you need. Paste it in your functions.php file or save it as a separate file and put it in your plugins folder, then activate it.

Let me know if this helps.
Cheers,
AndrasFebruary 7, 2017 at 3:59 am #1230445NickParticipantThat’s brilliant and works perfectly. Thank you for that.
Might it be worth adding it as an option within a future release perhaps?
Thanks again,
James
February 8, 2017 at 9:32 am #1231459NickParticipantHi,
I thought this had worked – and to a point it has – but I have just noticed that it has set all events to say they are starting on the current day (including recurring events, the first of which is some time away).

February 8, 2017 at 3:59 pm #1231743AndrasKeymasterBummer. Sorry to hear that.
I took a look at it and it needed a little tweaking at the end.
Please overwrite with this version and check. It worked on my local site when I used it as a plugin.

Thanks again.
