ParticipantHi
I’ve purchased the Events Calendar Pro plugin because I’m doing a site and I would like people to be able to book their place on baking courses via the website.
Setting up the events and related criteria seems straightforward enough, but I can’t seem to work out how to set it up so that when people click on an event, there is the option for them to be able to pay / book online to attend the event?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Paul.

KeymasterHi Paul,
Thanks for reaching out!
While Events Calendar Pro has great features like shortcodes, additional calendar views, and recurring events, it is actually Event Tickets Plus (or Event Tickets for free events) that allows you to set up tickets that your users can purchase directly on the site.
With Event Tickets Plus, users will see the tickets directly on the event page and can add them to their cart (you will need to use either WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads, both of which are free plugins) and checkout.
Did you maybe mean to purchase Event Tickets Plus in addition to or instead of Events Calendar Pro? Let me know if this is the case…you are entitled to a full refund within 30 days of purchase, so we can get you switched over to Event Tickets Plus if needed!
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantThanks Jennifer.
Let me speak to the people I’m doing the site for and I’ll come back to
you. I think they will want me to swap the Events Calendar Pro for Event
Tickets Plus. Also, with Events Ticket plus, is there the option to set up
a sandbox for testing etc before it goes live? Thanks again.
Paul.

KeymasterHi Paul,
Sure, you can set up Event Tickets Plus in a sandbox first before implementing it on your live site. There isn’t any built in testing functionality in the plugin, like Dev mode so to speak, but you can definitely start off in a test site and then add the plugin to your live site when you’re ready to go.
If you do decide to switch over, just let me know, and I’ll get that taken care of for you!
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantHi
Thanks for this. I’m travelling at the moment but will upload it tomorrow when I’m back. To use Event Tickets Plus will I need to add the Event Tickets plugin as well? Also, do you have any tutorial videos I can watch to speed up the learning curve so to speak.
Thanks for all your help so far,
Paul.

KeymasterHi Paul,
That is correct, you will need to install and activate Event Tickets (our free ticketing plugin) – Event Tickets Plus extends its functionality and does require it to work. You will also need either WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads to handle the checkout process (both free plugins). If you’re not sure which one to go with, this article should help.
As far as tutorials, we do have a video on the product page giving a quick overview of how the plugin works. We also have some articles that should help you get started:
New User Primer: Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus
Settings Overview: Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus
Collecting Attendee Information (ET Plus feature)
Let me know if you have any questions on getting set up!
Thanks,
Jennifer
