September 17, 2018 at 7:42 pm #1623889CliffMemberHi, Jane. Sorry you’re experiencing this.
This isn’t currently a confirmed issue so I’d suggest following these recommended troubleshooting steps for your own site:
There might be some new updates available. Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
- Downloads / Version Numbers
- License Keys
- TEC Automatic Updates
- or TEC Manual Updates
- WordPress core updates
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.
You might also see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)
Whenever troubleshooting, it’s best to edit your wp-config.php file to enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG (which will create a file on your server at /wp-content/debug.log if there are any WP_DEBUG messages) and share any debug messages you see while trying to replicate this issue and doing other things on your site relevant to this ticket (such as visiting your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and anything else you can think to do).
If there’s nothing obvious (such as a console error or WP_DEBUG message) pointing you to what might be the problem, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Seventeen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.
Note that https://wordpress.org/plugins/plugin-detective/ may prove helpful as well. (third-party, not guaranteed or supported by us)
Of course, we always recommend restorable database and file backups as well as performing modifications first on a staging site before modifying anything on your live/production site.
If you still need assistance with this, please re-share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts Mode) in a Private Reply.
That will give me a lot of extra information to help troubleshoot this.
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.
September 18, 2018 at 8:37 am #1624315JaneParticipantDear Help Desk:
I can tell you exactly what the problem is.
We have a SUBSCRIPTION AND LICENSE FOR EVENT PRO VALID UNTIL March 2019.
What is running on our WordPress site is The Event Calendar, VERSION 4.6.23, as of last Wednesday.
We should have EVENT CALENDAR PRO Version 4.4.32 in our WordPress site.
Why was our installation not updated as EVENT PRO, but as the regular Event Calendar?
Why am I paying for Event Calendar and not getting it?
Most importantly, how will you fix this? I am not a developer or programmer. I only update content on WordPress. You must fix this from your end.

If it’s not activated, please activate it.
If it is not listed there, please install it.
If it is activated, please provide a video recording of the issue when at the Edit Event or Add New Event wp-admin screen.
Thank you.
September 19, 2018 at 6:02 am #1625175JaneParticipantI have downloaded the Event Pro 4.4.32 zip file.
When I tried to Install it, I got this message:
This site can’t be reached
The webpage at http://mariandale.org/wp-admin/update.php?action=upload-plugin might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
ERR_ACCESS_DENIEDPlease advise.

September 19, 2018 at 9:52 am #1625521CliffMemberI’m unsure why your site would throw that error.
In whichever browser you’re using, please clear your cookies and cache (https://www.whatismybrowser.com/guides/how-to-clear-cookies-browsing-history-and-cache/) and try again. This will ensure we have fresh login credentials.
If it still doesn’t work after that, please check with your webhost about this.
It may also help to enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG, as detailed in my initial response.
Please let me know how this goes for you.
September 19, 2018 at 10:02 am #1625540JaneParticipantThat is no longer the message I am getting.
The message on WordPress, when I try to INSTALL THE PLUGIN, is the following, even though we are clearly on just EVENTS Calendar and not Events Calendar Pro.
Unpacking the package…
Installing the plugin…
Destination folder already exists. /home/marianda/public_html/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/
Plugin installation failed.
Return to Plugin Installerhttp://mariandale.org/wp-admin/plugin-install.php
I have already sent this to my web developer, who said it’s clearly an installation problem with TEC.
Why has our Events PRO worked for over a year, and then stopped working when you sent an update, last week? And our license is current.
Please address this today. I have waited for 6 days. This is the worst customer support I have ever experienced.
September 19, 2018 at 8:39 pm #1626015CliffMemberYou will need to go to cPanel File Manager or SFTP or some other direct access to the server’s files and find the /home/marianda/public_html/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/ folder and delete it.
Then you will be able to install the .zip you downloaded.
Sometimes this can happen when your server’s file permissions are not set correctly.
Please let me know how this goes.

This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics.
