    Hello~

After searching the forums, I haven’t seen any posts about this issue. I have the Facebook events, Events Calendar, and Event Tickets plugins installed (Not PLUS, just the free version). I have no problem purchasing tickets if I am logged in, and I have had others create accounts, log in, and RSVP with no problems.

But when I or someone else tries to RSVP without logging in, they get this error message as a standalone page:

ERROR: Sorry, there was an error. Please be sure JavaScript and Cookies are enabled in your browser and try again.

I don’t know if this is normal behavior. I originally got this error even when logged in, and fixed that by changing some cache settings (as covered in other threads), but I still get it if I try to RSVP while not logged in. If this is not normal, how can I fix it, and if it is normal, is it possible to change the plugin’s behavior to allow people to RSVP without logging in?

    Hi Nathan,

That definitely is not the expected behaviour!

Does this error message appear within the ‘framework’ of your theme (ie, is it still a styled frontend page) or is it something more basic? Can you point me to an example, by sharing your URL via a private reply for instance?

You didn’t share your complete system information when you opened this topic but occasionally we do find clues in there – is that something you would be able to provide, again by private reply?

Last but not least, would you be able to try our standard troubleshooting steps?

    Thanks!

Thanks for sharing the system info.

One of your plugins, WP SpamShield, seems to be the source of the error message. You could confirm this by disabling it – temporarily – and attempting to RSVP as an unauthenticated user.

Other than that, it may be worth connecting with the authors of that plugin (if you still require it) to see if there are any means of resolving this 🙂
