ParticipantHi, We would like a simple vertical list of events such as at https://theeventscalendar.com/showcase/kidsburgh/
We use visual composer to build our pages. How do we find out how to do this ?
Thanks,
Mike

MemberHi, Mike.
That screenshot is using our List View. You can see it at our demo site: http://wpshindig.com/events/list/
List View is included in the free The Events Calendar plugin; it also includes some widgets.
If you have Events Calendar PRO, you could use one of our plugin’s enhanced widgets or shortcodes.
While we don’t have a Visual Composer extension, you should be able to use a shortcode or widget there.
You can also add your vote to this existing feature request: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/6854801-create-a-visual-composer-extension
Voting allows us to gauge interest in this particular feature request, which helps us prioritize our development efforts.
Last but not least, we have a pretty great Refund Policy so you can buy one or many of our add-ons and thoroughly test them.
I hope this info helps. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

MemberTo clarify my previous reply, I do see that you already have our PRO license. Sorry for any confusion about that.
And to answer your question from https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/integraing-the-image-view-into-visual-composer/:
The answer is the same except that https://theeventscalendar.com/showcase/milkwood/ displays our Photo View (only available via PRO). Here’s our demo site’s version of it: http://wpshindig.com/events/photo/
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.

ParticipantHello Cliff,

I understand that you can not integrate into visual composer but where do I find a list of the short codes and widgets that I can use ?

Mike

ParticipantHi,
I found some documentation on the shortcodes and have created this page:
http://eventoscorporativospanama.com/events-photo-view/
1. The limit is set to 3 but all 4 upcoming events are showing – is this a bug in the software ?
2. How to I remove this texy from the page ?
Upcoming Events
Show only the first upcoming instance of recurring events3. How do I create the simple list as shown at https://theeventscalendar.com/showcase/kidsburgh/. The part in the bottom right underneath the mini calenday ?
Regards,
Mike

MemberThat link does work for me. Sorry it didn’t work for you.
In our forums we keep our threads focused on just one issue at a time to ensure we fully answer each of your questions/issues. Please keep this in mind for the future and start a new thread for your additional questions from this thread. Thanks for your understanding.
I can’t tell what shortcode you added to create http://eventoscorporativospanama.com/events-photo-view/ — but if it’s the tribe_events shortcode, “limit” is not supported there.
However, please do reference (and add your vote to) https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/17229266-add-limit-x-option-to-tribe-events-shortcode
Again, please create a separate topic for each question.

ParticipantHi,
I am using [tribe_events view=”photo” tribe-bar=”false” limit=”3″]
What shortcode should I be using to get the photo view with a limit ?
Thanks,
Mike

MemberAs stated, “limit” isn’t part of tribe_events shortcode. The UserVoice link I shared had a customization that supposedly adds it.
There isn’t a Photo View shortcode or widget with a limit option. Some of our other widgets or shortcodes have “limit” options but do not display Photo View.

ParticipantThis feature should be added right now.
Which functions.php – the main wordpress or the theme ?
Regards,
Mike

MemberMike, the “limit” option isn’t available by default, but https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/17229266-add-limit-x-option-to-photo-view-shortcode linked to a solution that worked for them.
I’ve let our development team know that you were very much wanting this functionality added natively.
Please keep up with this feature’s development on the UserVoice thread.

ParticipantHello Cliff,

MemberBest practice for adding custom code (like to implement a PHP snippet to modify The Events Calendar) is to create a functionality plugin, unless it’s something specific to your theme, in which case best practice is to make sure you’re using a child theme<i>,</i> then add the customization to your child theme’s functions.php file.
I hope this information helps!

ParticipantHi Cliff,
Thanks very much.
I added [tribe_events view=”photo” tribe-bar=”false” limit=”4″] but only 3 events show.
You can see from the row above that there are 4 active events. This was implemented by [ecs-list-events design=”columns” limit=”4″ columns=”4″] (events calendar newsletter plugin) but we cannot get the columns to align correctlt so want to use The Events Calendar short code.
How can we geet 4 events to show ?
Regards,
Mike

MemberHi. Sorry for the delayed reply over the holiday and weekend.
Because of our limited support when it comes to customizations — if you need additional coding help, you may want to ask your developer or reference our documentation and list of known customizers.
