ParticipantHi there,
after updating to latest event calendar and -pro a 404 site shows (only for entry page / calendar view, not for single events).
I tried the fixes described here but nothing helped.URL events page: http://stadtkirche-emmendingen.de/veranstaltungen/
Below I entered the support dump.
Thanks for your support,

MemberGood evening Philipp and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the error 404 you have been experiencing.
I would love to help you with this topic.I guess what you mean is that you tried all the suggestions found here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/fixing-http-404-errors/
If that’s not the case, that would be the first thing I would do.
Could you also please go through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website) and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

ParticipantHi Geoff,
yes this is what I was talking about.
I tested to switch to 2015 standard theme – without success.
I also tested some of the plugins but due to a missing dev envirnoment I wasn’t able to test deactivating all of them.
Will do that in the next days…Did you experience similar issues after the latest update at clients?
Thanks,

MemberGood evening Philipp,
Thank you for confirming that we are indeed talking about the same procedure.
Let me know what you find out when you deactivate all other plugins. I know it can be a daunting task, but it’s the fastest way to leave no stone unturned.
To answer your question, we have not received reports of this happening to other clients after the update at the time of writing.
The other things I can think of would be:
- A caching issue (if you use a caching plugin that I am unaware of)
- If some of your recurring events are set to private visibility
- A corrupted update (I would recommend reinstalling the files by overwriting the ones in place)
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

ParticipantHi Geoff,
I set up a local env an tested:
a) changing theme again
b) deactivating all plugins step by step
c) copying plugin files after deleting the existing one
d) changed standard page style of events overview from photo to list and others
e) refreshed the permalinks and the permalink name of the pluginNothing was successful. Still 404 on the overview page.
I am lost…

MemberGood evening Philipp,
I am very sorry this did not change anything for you.
But, do not despair, we still have a couple of things to try to find out what the issue is.
Here are the next things I would suggest:
- Can you check the .htaccess file of your website to see if there aren’t any hardcoded redirection rules in there ? Or better yet if you could share the details of it (in a private reply)
- Could you share a screenshot of your Events -> Settings page (in a private reply)?
Hang in there!

MemberHello Philipp,
Thank you for all the information.
I believe I have good news for you. If you update to the latest version of our core plugin to version 4.1.0.1 , there is a fix specifically for that issue (for our customers that use the German language).
In the event that does not work out, could you please try reverting temporarily to english to see if that fixes the issue ?
Best regards and thank you for your patience while we work on resolving this,
Geoff B.
