ParticipantHi,
We just updated to 4.3.X and were testing it on our staging site when we noticed a quirk. On list view the “<< All Events” link appears at the top of the page. This shouldn’t be appearing on the main views since the user is already browsing all events via their current search. Clicking the link when on this page will return the user to the default view. The link to return to “all events” should only appear on the single event pages.
We confirmed this is an issue in the core plugin by verifying that the issue occurs on your demo as well: http://wpshindig.com/events/list/
We can obviously hide the link via css for a temporary fix, but wanted to make you aware of this issue so that the root of the problem can be addressed in a future update.
Thanks,
KarlyDecember 16, 2016 at 11:50 pm #1207269Cliff
MemberHi, Karly.
I do see that at our demo site’s List View. However, our demo site is not running the latest version just yet (I believe it was supposed to have been updated by now but has not yet been).
I viewed my local testing site’s List View with Twenty Seventeen theme and this errant All Events link is not there.
I’d suggest following these troubleshooting steps for your own site:
Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
- Downloads / Version Numbers
- License Keys
- TEC Automatic Updates
- or TEC Manual Updates
- WordPress core updates
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.
If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Sixteen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.
Then, please share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts Mode). That will give me a lot of extra information to help diagnose the problem.
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.

MemberKarly, please provide a link where this is happening, even if it’s hidden via CSS (I’ll still be able to find it in the page source)
Here’s my test site’s List View with the latest version of Avada’s core theme: https://cl.ly/3I2o203w3z2M — I do not have a link back to “All Events”
If you switch back to Avada core theme, is the issue still happening for you?

MemberOur latest update, v4.3.5 might fix this issue for you. However, v4.3.5 has an issue for the Event single page for events that have a featured image (although Avada having its own templates might make this a non-issue for you).
Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
- Downloads / Version Numbers
- License Keys
- TEC Automatic Updates
- or TEC Manual Updates
- WordPress core updates
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.
Thanks.

MemberI’m really sorry but with the same plugins and versions — and trying Twenty Sixteen, Twenty Seventeen, and Avada 5.0.6 — I could not get the “All Events” link to show up.
Might you have some custom code or any way that this is appearing on your site? What if you spin up a new site — can you recreate the issue with fresh install of these same plugin versions and a fresh copy of Twenty Sixteen?

ParticipantHi Cliff,
There is no custom code; only the default Twenty Sixteen theme and the Modern Tribe plugins (all customization’s were in the child theme). I cleared my cache and viewed the page from an incognito browser and am seeing the link. I am also seeing the link on other devices, so its surprising that the link is not showing on your end.
Unfortunately, we’re a small team and only have one staging site that is a copy from production, so I cannot get another “fresh” instance up and running. It seems the solution at this point is to keep the custom CSS in place indefinitely to hide that link.

MemberKarly, I had 2 others test and they couldn’t reproduce the issue either… so I compared my localhost System Information Report with your latest one and I noticed the schema-version and pro-schema-version numbers were older than my own.
I’m not 100% sure what those are for, but I’d suggest deleting all of our plugins from your site and re-installing manually — see if you get schema-version 4.3.5 and pro-schema-version 4.3.4

Deleting The Events Calendar or its add-on plugins will NOT delete any of your data if you delete it via the WordPress plugin manager because that’s how we’ve decided to code our plugin.
FYI: deleting <i>any</i> plugin via FTP or cPanel’s File Manager (i.e. deleting just the files from the server) will also ensure a plugin gets deleted (if you delete the entire plugin folder) without removing any data from the database. This can sometimes be helpful to know in cases where a plugin <i>does</i> run an uninstall routine to delete data (again, our plugins do not run such a routine at this time and probably never will).
You can also see the difference when you click to delete a plugin, like this.

ParticipantHi Cliff,
Thanks for having a couple others try testing this. I think you may have been looking at the schema versions from the system information I had posted prior to when the latest maintenance updates were released. I’m seeing the correct versions: schema-version 4.3.5 and pro-schema-version 4.3.4
I’m stumped as to why that link is showing up on our install since we tried it with the core plugins, default WP theme and no customizations. It seems that it’s only happening on our site though, so I’ll need to just keep that css in place to hide the link.
Thanks again for trying to get to the root of the problem with this.
