Working hand and hand with our Event Series, Series Passes is an exciting new ticketing feature that we’ve built for our amazing plugins, Event Tickets and Events Calendar Pro.

With Series Passes, you can sell a pass ticket that grants attendees access to a whole Series of events. Series Passes are perfect for multi-day events, events with multiple venues or stages, or any time you want to up-sell attendees to more events.

A Series Pass is a new ticket type that is created and managed from the Series admin. Once you create a Series Pass, your site visitors can purchase a pass from the Series page or from any event in the Series. Capacity and attendance is handled at the Series level, so when someone purchases a pass the availability is decreased everywhere.

Like single tickets, Series Passes can be customized with description, sales dates, and capacity options. Users with Event Tickets Plus will also be able to add attendee registration fields to any pass. Series have their own Attendees and Orders pages so you can track sales. Pass attendees are also listed on the Attendees page for each event in the Series, so you know who to expect at your event.

Creating Series Passes

You can create a Series Pass in the WordPress dashboard at Events > Series:

Clicking on Series should take you to the Series page in the admin:

Mouse over your selected Series, or just click the name of the Series you want to add a pass to. On the edit page for your selected Series, you will see an area where you can create your Series Pass:

Creating Series Passes follows the same procedures as creating a single ticket.

  • If you don’t manually set an end time for pass sales, they will be set to end when the last event in the Series starts. This will dynamically update if you add, remove, or edit events in the Series. If you manually set an end sale date, it will not change automatically.
  • As with single tickets, you can have shared capacity between passes on a Series. It’s important to note that shared capacity is specifically shared amongst the Series Passes on that Series. Capacity is not shared between single tickets and Series Passes (we plan to add that in the future).

Series Passes in the WordPress admin

Here’s what the Series Passes will look like on the Series admin page:

On the single event admin page in the classic editor, pass tickets and single tickets will display together like this:

In the block editor admin, pass tickets and single tickets will look like this:

Series Passes on your site

Series Passes will show on the front end of your site on any event in the Series (single and recurring events) and on the Series page itself. Attendees can purchase from any of those places.

If a single event also has single tickets, those will show alongside the passes:

Series Pass Attendees

When someone purchases a Series Pass, they will be listed on the Series-level Attendees page and on the Attendees page for any events in the Series. You can view, edit, move, or delete a Series Pass attendee from any of these Attendees pages. These changes will impact that attendee record on the Series and all related events.

You can check in a Series Pass attendee from an event’s Attendees page or via our Event Tickets Plus app. The attendee is checked in just for that specific event, so you can track who attended which events in the Series.
