Thanks Rob…updating to WP 3.4.1 did the trick…I had already donw everything else on your list, and thought that perhaps it was a theme conflict, but the most obvious solution was the one that did it…d’oh!!

Thanks Jonah…it seems that my membership plugin is causing a conflict…I’m going to see if I can find an alternative membership plugin that doesn’t conflict, because I’m really keen to get Community Events up and running. Thanks again for such great support!!
