Raymond GillespieParticipant
Hi Victor,
I just wondered if you’d had any progress with this at all?
Raymond GillespieParticipantThanks for the update! Let me know how you get on.
Raymond GillespieParticipantHi Victor,
Thank you, that’s great. The code we are using is as follows:
add_action( 'init', function() { add_feed( '837325573feed', 'do_feed_rss2' ); }); add_action( 'pre_get_posts', function( \WP_Query $q ) { if( $q->is_feed( '837325573feed' ) ) add_filter( 'option_rss_use_excerpt', '__return_false' ); } ); function remove_feed( $feedname ) { global $wp_rewrite; if ( in_array( $feedname, $wp_rewrite->feeds ) ) { $wp_rewrite->feeds = array_diff( $wp_rewrite->feeds, array( $feedname ) ); } $hook = 'do_feed_' . $feedname; // Remove default function hook remove_all_actions( $hook ); add_action( $hook, $hook ); return $hook; } remove_feed( 'feed' );
The events feed is here:

The regular WordPress feed is here:

Please let me know if you can shed any light on things!
Thank you.
Raymond GillespieParticipantOK, thanks for the update. I’ve got part of the way their, and my main RSS feed now works correctly. However, the events feed just shows the following:
<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?><rss version=”2.0″
xmlns:content=”http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/”
xmlns:dc=”http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/”

Raymond GillespieParticipantHi,
Thanks for the update. I’ve gone through that article and a few others but I can’t find anything that discusses changing the main events feed URL itself. Do you have any suggestions for this?
Raymond GillespieParticipantThanks – it is the CSV issue, so I have opened another ticket.
What about the featured image issue? Do you have any ideas on how we can get this working?
February 27, 2018 at 6:11 am in reply to: Struggling to Set Medium Image Size in New Widget #1464737Raymond GillespieParticipantHi,
Thanks for the update. I tried adding the following code to set the image size:
add_filter( 'tribe_events_list_widget_thumbnail_size', 'custom_list_widget_thumbnail_size' );
function custom_list_widget_thumbnail_size() {
return 'full';
}However, that didn’t seem to work. What I don’t understand is how the widget image size is set – the default widgets appear to have them set as medium or full, it’s only the custom widget (“Recently Added Events”) that shows the 150×150 thumbnail size.
February 19, 2018 at 3:16 am in reply to: Featured Images displaying differently in different widgets #1457328Raymond GillespieParticipantThat’s sorted it, thanks! I just changed this:
$thumbnail_size = apply_filters( ‘tribe_events_list_widget_thumbnail_size’, ‘post-thumbnail’ );
to:
$thumbnail_size = apply_filters( ‘tribe_events_list_widget_thumbnail_size’, ‘medium’ );
in the list-widgets.php file and we’re sorted. Thanks for your help.
Raymond GillespieParticipantIt’s OK, I got it sorted – I disabled the link and wrapped the whole div in the link I was using for the title – works fine now, thanks.
Raymond GillespieParticipantAh great thanks, I think I found the filter I need:
if ( ! empty( $featured_image ) && apply_filters( 'tribe_event_featured_image_link', $link ) ) { $featured_image = '<a href="' . esc_url( tribe_get_event_link( $post_id ) ) . '">' . $featured_image . '</a>'; }
Do I add this to functions.php to override the copy in the plugin folder?
Raymond GillespieParticipantHi again,
I have almost got this sorted. However, I can’t find the template that links the image of photo mode through to the event post. I have looked in photo/single-event.php but even when I remove the link from that entirely I still have the image linking through to the event post. Should I be looking somewhere else?
This is all based on photo mode BTW (probably should have said that sooner!)

February 9, 2018 at 5:46 am in reply to: Featured Images displaying differently in different widgets #1448792Raymond GillespieParticipantHello,
The only custom file I have is single-event.php, there is a line that references the image size here:
$thumbnail_size = apply_filters( ‘tribe_events_list_widget_thumbnail_size’, ‘post-thumbnail’ );
Do I overwrite that instead of the functions.php fix?
Raymond GillespieParticipantThanks!
February 8, 2018 at 5:45 am in reply to: Featured Images displaying differently in different widgets #1447521Raymond GillespieParticipantHello,
Thanks for the update. I set this up as a widget (see attached). It shows up in the default Sidebar widget area.
