ParticipantYes! Thank you! I have a functional slider again! I was concerned that I wouldn’t even be able to test your snippet as I have encountered several problems with changing hosts, but I got everything running today and was able to include your fix, so am delighted to be back on the road to having a fully functional website once again!

ParticipantI have this issue as well. Has there been a resolution to this yet?
wmglennosborne
ParticipantI have updated to Events Calendar 3.3.1 and Events Calendar Pro 3.3 as well as WordPress 3.8 in the hopes that the updates might have resolved whatever conflict there seems to be, but I’ve had no luck. As your fixes have focused on post/tag queries, should I post the slider.php code for you to see how the slider finds the posts to include? If we can’t find a fix for this soon, I’d like instructions on how to downgrade.

ParticipantSorry. It doesn’t work.

ParticipantSite is back up and functional, except for the slider. The code is included in my theme’s functions.php file. If it’s of any help, the slider appears to be:
jQuery Nivo Slider v2.3 * http://nivo.dev7studios.com
with the following additions:
* May 2010 – Pick random effect from specified set of effects by toronegro
* May 2010 – controlNavThumbsFromRel option added by nerd-sh
* May 2010 – Do not start nivoRun timer if there is only 1 slide by msielski
* April 2010 – controlNavThumbs option added by Jamie Thompson (http://jamiethompson.co.uk)
* March 2010 – manualAdvance option added by HelloPablo (http://hellopablo.co.uk)wmglennosborne
ParticipantI have every reason to believe that that is the code I have inserted and that it is inserted in the proper place, however my web host decided to do maintenance today on the server and the site is completely down for a few hours. 🙁
I saw something in another thread I believe about specifying the version of jquery as a potential fix for this or a similar issue, but I am a coding neophyte and my memory is a little fuzzy on this.As I don’t really see how this code fix is related to the functioning of the slider in the method theme, I’d love to offer you some more specific info about my site, but it’s much harder for me to look for info when the domain is offline…. Perhaps all will be solved by whatever the host is doing to the server?

ParticipantSorry. No difference. The slider is still broken.
wmglennosborne
ParticipantDid you inadvertently post the same snippet as from the previous thread? There is no difference between them.
wmglennosborne
ParticipantI already have that snippet in functions.php of my theme and the slider does not work. I’m looking for something else as a fix or else I need instructions on downgrading back to a previous version.
wmglennosborne
ParticipantI’m using the Method Theme from Viva Themes on wmglennosborne.com. I inserted the code snippet into my theme’s function.php file, but the slider still does not function. I either have a slider or an event calendar. 🙁
What else can or should I do?

ParticipantKyle,
Thanks for the code! The maps are much better now.
Glennwmglennosborne
ParticipantThanks, Rob for the help. I have the button issue resolved now thanks to the code you pointed me to. I think what I’m looking to change with the map is the size of the container. Where are the settings for the size of the map container? I’m still new at this html/php/css coding so tried looking in a couple of files but couldn’t find anything that looked like what I need to adjust.
