Do you know which release it will be part of? Will it be in Pro or Vanilla Calendar, or both? Thanks!

I am using the former, “Hide Event From Listings”. I had not been trying the WordPress privacy method. Should I be?

I don’t have high hopes for this actually getting any dev time. It isn’t a critical piece of functionality – the users can still do what they need to do, but it is slightly more demanding. I thought it was a good idea and figured I would pass it along. Maybe it’ll get in by v9.0 😉

Thanks for the response and tip. Searching by title has its obvious drawbacks but if that is the best I can work with, I think it could work. Could you flag this thread for Barry when he gets back? I would love to hear if he can come up with anything else.

Searching the source, it looks like the hook is actually tribe_events_event_save. When I hooked into save_posts_tribe_events nothing happened but the former was called as expected.

Perfect. This is exactly what I was hoping for (aside from learning that the functionality was already built in). No worries about the disconnect. It sounds pretty reasonable.

Can I get some kind of response on this? “No, this is impossible”, “Check out this hook”, “This is in our roadmap” … Anything.

I’ll jump in here with my link because I am having the same issue. nwatson, I apologize if I am stealing your thread but I believe we have the same problem – except mine is “News” instead of “Blog”

Casey, please see the link below. I believe the issue is related to the fact the Events are a custom post type and my “News” link is set as the Posts page in [Settings > Reading > Front page displays]. Similarly, when I start clicking around the calendar by changing the “View as” or adding filters, the highlighting for “Events” goes away (it is supposed to stay) and the News highlighting remains (it should still not be there).

I viewed the screencast for “Adding Events To The Menu” in the new user primer and created that link in the same way as the mustachioed gentleman did there.
