Oh, that’s good news. How will I know when the thumbnails are available for the widget? Will someone circle back here, or will it get mentioned perhaps in the newsletter?

    Thanks again!

(the widget will work because I can select only the category I want to show)

Ok, thanks! The Events List widget could work for my purposes. Curious if there is a way to display a thumbnail image for each event when using the widget?

Is there not a shortcode I could use to display the event category on a page I generate?

It looks fine, as expected, with the TwentyTwelve theme. I’m not using a translation plugin, this is a WP multi-site installation (because WPML conflicts with everything!). I’m using Headway 3.5.
That particular page is just using a template for the header and footer, and the WP content appears in the main section. All the other views seem to be fine for the Events calendar… the calendar and single event views etc. are all fine.

Thanks! The multisite installation and having different languages on the sub-sites is all ok. My concern is with the TEC PRO plugin specifically… I need the events and calendar to be in French on one sub-site and in English on another sub-site.

According to the TEC installation FAQ, “Events Calendar PRO adapts itself to the language your WordPress install is using. It will default to English, unless you run WP in a different language — in which case the calendar will reflect that. ”

I want to use WordPress in English only on all my sub-sites. Is there a way to change the language of the TEC plugin *without* changing the language of the WP install?

    Thanks!

Thanks! Still hoping I can set the language for TEC PRO plugin differently for each sub-site. Fingers crossed! 🙂

If the plugin is activated on each sub-site, does it still count as one installation? Or would I need to upgrade my license just to test this out? If I can’t set the language differently for each sub-site, I’ll have to find another plugin. Sadly.

I’m new to multisite as well… before I switch to multisite, I’m verifying whether the plugins I use currently are still going to work, and if they’ll work the way I need them to. 🙂

Let’s assume I abandon WPML and do a multisite install instead with two sub-sites, one for English, one for French. Can I activate the TEC plugin on each sub-site and have one French calendar and one English calendar? Do you know if anyone has done this successfully?

    Thanks!!

I did that now. But I just updated my headway theme to a 2.014 version and now I can’t create the events folder inside the theme directory (like I had done for version 2.013 of my theme). I get a permission denied error. I’ve written to headway for support but am waiting to hear back. Until I solve that issue I don’t know if the customization is working. 😛

    The customized template is here:
    /home/tangosocialclub.ca/site/www/wp-content/themes/headway-2013/events

    Here is the template:

Yes please, I would like to hide the previous month link on the November 2012 page. Thanks!

    Hi again, 🙂
I followed the instructions carefully and edited the template and such. It doesn’t seem to be working. Can you help?
My event calendar is here and this is what displays when I selected July 2012:
    http://tangosocialclub.ca/eventscalendar/2012-07/

Ideally, I don’t want to see the Month Name (with arrows shown in orange) for any date earlier than November 2012. And the drop-down list of months should start at November 2012. Is that what the template override was meant to do? Just curious. I was hoping there would be a way for any months prior to November 2012 to not appear at all. I don’t want the previous months to be selectable since the calendar will be entirely blank before November 2012. If that’s not possible, just let me know and I’ll abandon my dream. 🙂

Thanks again so much for your help!

So I need to make an events folder in my theme directory, then copy the ecp-page-template.php and paste it in that new folder all by itself?

Which do I specify as October 2012? month? Please be more specify. I looked at the code I can paste, but I don’t know how to customize it for my purposes (ie. I don’t want to show the calendar before October 2012, only October 2012 and forward).

    Thanks!

    Hi Barry,
Is there any way yet for someone like me, who doesn’t code, to implement a fix for the time zone issue? Any documentation to explain how to implement a fix? Any update coming soon?

I just installed the plugin today and I’m going to have to remove it today and ask for a refund if this time zone thing doesn’t get fixed immediately. This was the perfect plugin for me and now because of this time zone problem, it’s useless. :/

Thanks for your time & efforts,
    Kristin

This time zone issue is killing me. It’s been 3 months and there still isn’t a patch or add-on plugin? :((( I’m in Eastern time zone so of course all the event times on my website are incorrect. Where is the fix for this? If a kind soul has created a fix, why hasn’t this thread been updated? Please help.
