ParticipantHi Nico,
I followed the steps for adding the first bit of code and it’s not working well.
You can see it here:
http://develdiscoversamuel.com/events/I didn’t add the second piece of code. Would that go into the same single-event.php file in my child theme?
Thanks,
StuartStuart
ParticipantThanks Nico for hanging with me on this!
I copied and pasted the code in Text Wrangler. Then copied and pasted it in my child theme’s functions.php file.
I tested it with the 2016 theme and no map was displayed (only a link to the map). See attached screenshot.
In my child theme (I’m using the Avada theme), it did display the map! But, it didn’t put it where I want it to go. Also, there’s still a box with a link that says “Google Map”. That’s redundant. See second screenshot.
In a perfect world, I’d like that smaller rectangle space (with the Google Map link) to contain the actual map and for the map to be a link to a larger map.
Any and all suggestions on achieving this are greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
StuartStuart
ParticipantHi Nico,
I tried that and it changed the layout a little bit, but not much.
I’ve reached out to the theme’s support and will see what they say.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Nico,
I changed the name of the tribe_events folder and that really didn’t do it.
I’m using a child theme. Would it work for me to put the events php file or some other files in my child theme? Would that override the base theme? If so, what files would need to add and where to my child theme to make the event page have the following layout: http://wpshindig.com/events/list/
Many thanks,
StuartStuart
ParticipantHi Nico,
I tried both and they didn’t work. 🙁
The snippet seemed to break things and no pages would load on my site.
I have checked those boxes for Google Maps and it still doesn’t appear as a map on the event page. I tried the theme 2014 and it, too, only displayed a Google Map link.
On the event’s actual page, the map does appear, but it’s not link. This is also true for the 2014 theme.
Any other suggestions on how to fix this?
Thanks,
StuartStuart
ParticipantHi George,
Thanks for your help.
Sorry I wasn’t clearer.
Yes, I am using WooCommerce.
And yes, I am referring to the “organizer” post type.
My best-case scenario is that I could create a coupon code that is only available for a role of “volunteer” and for a specific “organization.” (I have multiple organizations and only one organization that offers discounts to their volunteers. The others do not.) The discount code would work only for people with the proper role and that organization’s events, not on anything else in their cart (like CDs MP3s, or events sponsored by other organizations).
Thanks for checking to see if this is possible.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Cheers,
Stuart -
