Okay, I changed teh Events Template to Full Width and that seemed to solve the second problem. Just need to figure out the calendar vs list issue!

For the second issue, you say:
try changing your Events Template option in Settings > The Events Calendar > Template
Okay… change it to what? It’s like you didn’t finish your sentence.

Okay, that sounded great, until I went in to see if I could affect that change. I have no idea where to change this. It is not eveident. If you can tell me where to do that, that would be great. When you say I need to link to the above mentioned URL, it is not clear where to do that.
However, when I go in and look at The Events Calendar Settings, I see where it says Events URL slug. It says my current Events URL is: http://stoneridgechristian.com/calendar/
as you have stated that I should not be linking to this in my menu (though I have no idea how you link to it in the menu??). But… When I click on that link right there in that settings screen, it takes me to the actual calendar, not the list! Why is that? And… after clciking on Calendar in my menu (which takes me to the list–not the calendar) the URL that shows in the browser is: http://stoneridgechristian.com/?post_type=tribe_events
Which is what you are telling me above is supposed to take me to the calendar.
    Confused? Yes! Please clarify!
    Thanks,

Rob, I’m also still seeing an event name in the breadcrumbs instead of the page name, which is Calender. Have no idea where that is coming from.

    Rob,
It looks like all of what I read on that page is about creating code, or addig code into pages. It looked a bit above where I am. Not that I’m not going to edit code. I do do it using firebug and creating child themes, but I didn’t see anything in there that pertains to what I want to do: list specific categoy events on a specific page. The only thing i saw regarding categories was color-coding them. That looks handy, but not what I am looking for. Any other ideas?
Also, I am still wanting to know how to place the small calendar into a sidebar. How do I do that? Turoials, specific instructions?
    Thanks,
    David

    Rob,
Read that entire thread and even tried everything in it, but to no avail. I still get the list view when I really want the calendar view. Any more good ideas? Anybody there want access to my side? Let me know.

    Thanks,
    David
