    Hi All,

I can confirm that none of the above described helped. The issue still exists, and since some of the recent updates it got worse:

Now when going to the events calendar site and when using the language switcher, the site doesn’t even switch the language anymore. This happens only on the events calendar site.

Can you please finally address with the proper attention?

As mentioned, I paid for your products and I still can’t use them properly, because I run a multi-language site, and this massive bug completely destroys the site. Not to say that it looks completely unprofessional!

    Guys,

I realized you released another maintenance release, and this issue is still not fix (like promised in your last message).

I reported this 6 months ago (!) and it is still not working. This is a major showstopper issue for any multi-language website. I paid for your products, and I am sorry to say, the support is beyond everything which I experienced from other plugin providers. From your newsletters I read that you work heavily on new features of Event Tickets and on some new secret stuff, instead of fixing major flaws of existing products.

    I am very disappointed.

Hi – I also can confirm that this issue is not resolved. The bug still exists.
    Please fix.

    You write:

…will be prioritized and triaged like all other bug reports and will not be fixed/enhanced soon.

    So let me summarize:

    • I bought a “professional” product for $89, which does not work as intended
    • Because you won’t fix it soon, I have the choice to fix it on my own cost or to not use it as intended

    This is a shame!

I am not going to buy another product from your company and I cannot recommend to anyone to buy your software.

Please re-read my posts more carefully.

I do not want to change the events URL slug in general. I would know how to do this.

What I want is to ONLY get rid of the “/events/category/” for Event Categories.

    I.e. I want to have:
    Calendar URL: /events/
    Event Category Baseball URL: /activities/baseball
    Event Category Football URL: /activities/football

    Hi Shelby,

unfortunately both links are not what I am looking for.

As mentioned in the first post, what I want is to get rid of the “/events/category” in the URL, but only for the Events Categories, and then instead use my own slug.

    Another example:
    /events/category/baseball => becomes: /activities/baseball
    /events/category/football => becomes: /activities/football

I think the only way to do this is by adding some functionality into functions.php. However, I need to find a starting point, e.g.

    • Is there a filter or an action on Events Categories taxonomy registration, where I can jump in and modify the URLs
    • If not: Can I catch the URL calls and redirect them to some other URLs and how would I create them?

    Hi Geoff,

I can see a couple times in that system info the events calendar version number, which is 4.4.4.

I understand the scope of the support, but I think it is important here to find out whether this is a WPML or an Events Calendar issue, and I hope that your WPML coding expert can figure it out.

What really makes me nervous is, that what I have written in my first post at the very bottom. While with the customized template, the taxonomy shows up twice, on the single event view it doesn’t. And both templates call the same functions ( tribe_get_event_categories which then calls get_the_term_list ).

Therefore we cannot say that we have the issue in general that the taxonomy shows up twice (like it may be the case in one of the WPML threads you posted).

Please note one additional important information:

This issue appears only when the event category of each language is linked together as translation (step no. 5 in the setup instructions listed in the first post). If you just create the category in each language without marking them as translation, then it doesn’t show up twice.

However, to properly set up the categories, they should be marked as translations. If this is not done, the language switcher cannot be used on the categories, because WPML doesn’t find a translation for the category.

    Hi Shelby,

This is pretty basic theming documentation and function reference which I all know.

I know that this requires to dive much deeper, but I would need to get a hint or a starting point. Please can you share a bit more information where and how events calendar handles the custom taxonomy registration, so that I can figure out if there are any hooks to overwrite the URL structure?

    Thanks.

    Hi Andras,

Thanks for the update and sorry to jump in again.

I understand that the fix takes time for being deployed, but for me this is a showstopper productive issue. Please provide me a fix here asap (e.g. code snippet), that I can overwrite the plugins core files until the fix is being officially deployed.

    Hi Shelby,

Thanks for sharing the link. However, Geoff’s suggestion is a link to a WPML forum thread explaining conditional language shortcodes. I don’t see how that should work for translating the country strings?

Can you please explain detailed and provide a proper code snippet?

    Thanks.
