Mister
ParticipantGuys,
I realized you released another maintenance release, and this issue is still not fix (like promised in your last message).
I reported this 6 months ago (!) and it is still not working. This is a major showstopper issue for any multi-language website. I paid for your products, and I am sorry to say, the support is beyond everything which I experienced from other plugin providers. From your newsletters I read that you work heavily on new features of Event Tickets and on some new secret stuff, instead of fixing major flaws of existing products.
I am very disappointed.

KeymasterHello Mister, thanks for the ping.
I’m sorry if I made you think that the fix is definitely going to be in the MR which shipped this week. That was not my intention, that is why I pointed out that it might need a bit more time, since WPML is a complex thing to work with. Thanks for your understanding.
Unfortunately we were not able to fit it in this MR, so we had to move it to the next one. We ask for your kind patience.

I’m really sorry if we have disappointed you with our support, and I’m a bit surprised as well. I have checked the threads that you have opened in our premium forums and what I found that you were always treated in a helpful manner for our staff in all cases, and in most cases either solutions or workarounds were offered, or we logged a ticket for a bug which then goes to our developers. When a thread has been closed it was usually due to not receiving any reply from you for a longer period of time.
If you could share with us where you feel shortchanged with our products and / or support I will definitely make that known internally so we can work on making the support experience of our users better.

The two things – new secret stuff and fixing bugs – do not disqualify each other.
If you look at our release schedule you will see that we are trying to push out a maintenance (bugfix) release every two weeks. In our last MR we pushed out 35+ fixes and tweaks for 5 of our plugins. I believe that is a feat not many plugin developers can claim.
When a bug is reported to us we create an internal bugticket. In the MR process all bugs are being evaluated and a number of them are chosen based on several factors to be fixed in the next MR. Afterwards developers are assigned to them who estimate and do the work. Once their work is done the code needs to be reviewed and then tested in 2-3 rounds. If the fix passes QA, and we are sure that it doesn’t cause more trouble than then help, it is released in the MR. If it fails then it goes back to the developer, and sometimes it can happen that there is no time to fix it, so it gets postponed to the next MR.
I hope this gives a bit of clarity on how our releases and bugfixing works.
If you do have any more questions of feedback to us then please do share. I’m happy to answer.
Cheers,

MemberGood evening Mister,
I believe I might have some good news.
The following steps seem to fix the issue:- Please update to the latest version of the Events Calendar (4.6), the Events Calendar Pro (4.4.17) and WPML (3.8.2)
- If required, head over to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting page.Once you are there, you should see several cleanup buttons. I would recommend:
a) Clearing WPML cache
b) Disabling language switcher cache
c) Using ALL the cleanup buttons on that page
d) Re-saving your permalinks
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

ParticipantSorry Geoff, but this isn’t working for me.
Does anybody succeeded with this method?September 28, 2017 at 4:01 pm #1356482Barry
MemberSorry to hear it didn’t work for you, Sylvia.
We are of course sorry for the delay in delivering a substantive fix on this one. As you’ll appreciate, it involves interaction by two major and fairly large components – The Events Calendar on one side, WPML on the other – and only one of those is entirely within our control.
Nonetheless, we realize this is important for you and many others and we’ll do our best to progress a fix as soon as we can.

ParticipantHi All,
I can confirm that none of the above described helped. The issue still exists, and since some of the recent updates it got worse:
Now when going to the events calendar site and when using the language switcher, the site doesn’t even switch the language anymore. This happens only on the events calendar site.
Can you please finally address with the proper attention?
As mentioned, I paid for your products and I still can’t use them properly, because I run a multi-language site, and this massive bug completely destroys the site. Not to say that it looks completely unprofessional!

KeymasterHello All,
I’m sorry about all the frustration this issue is causing you.
We did some internal tests of the 2 plugins working together and at the moment The Events Calendar 4.5.13 is the most stable version in terms of WPML compatibility. It is highly recommended to downgrade to that version if you are using WPML and keep to that until this issue gets fixed in an upcoming release.
We will post the news here once the fix is out. We ask for your kind patience until then and again, apologies for the frustration.

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
