KathleenParticipant
Hi Harold and Laura. Thanks for your input. Harold, I am on the Genesis Framework. I use the Lifestyle Child theme. A friend told me that the calendar loads fast for her. But for me, it takes about 30 seconds to load. I would love to put the calendar widget back up in the sidebar as well. Jonah, I am going to deactivate the plugins on my staging site. I will let you know the results.
KathleenParticipantHi Jonah, I haven’t tried deactivating all the other plugins yet. This morning I updated the ECP plugin (there was one for the Pro version), purged the cache and it seemed to run a bit faster. But I do think that having almost 7,000 events in the database could be slowing it down. Is there a utility available that will allow me to clean out old events? I would like to clear out all the 2011 events in bulk, if possible.
KathleenParticipantHi Jonah, Yes, I cleared the cache and did it again this morning. I went to Setting > Permalinks but don’t see an option for clearing them. As for the total number of events, there are 6,800+ on my database. It’s taking about 30 seconds for the calendar to load.
KathleenParticipantThere was a permissions issue. We got it worked out and it looks like it did the trick! Thanks for all your help!
KathleenParticipantHi Jonah,
We did what you suggested above and it did not work. I noticed that the start and end date on all my recurring events is the “end on” date. You can go in there and take a look yourself. I changed the “end on” date for the first listing and fixed the start and end dates and updated it. When I went back in to edit it, both the start and end dates changed to the “end on” date. Any other ideas on how to fix this?KathleenParticipantHi Jonah,
I will send you an email right now.
Thanks,
KathieKathleenParticipantHi Rob. Thank you. It would be great to have that recurrence option of 1st & 3rd or 2nd & 4th “Sunday” or whatever day of the week. My website socalkidssandiego.com is event driven and ECP is the main plugin for the site. Thanks again!
