    Doh! :=) Thanks Courtney. Done!

    Great, thanks Courtney!

in reply to: why am I being charged a license renewal fee early? #1317530

… maybe I hit something by accident that caused the charge? How do I remove it?

in reply to: can’t see update on WP Plugin page #1317514

thanks Courtney, I’ll do that. As long as I have you on the phone, so to speak, I’m about to switch our site access from the static IP to a dev subdomain (dev.keypennews.com) for testing; I’ll go live with the official name, keypennews.com when we’re all tested. Will that change in site URLs cause any problems with license key/registration etc?

    Thanks

PS: The versions I have work fine. I just want to get the updates.

in reply to: can’t see update on WP Plugin page #1316555

Thanks Courtney. Unfortunately I’m under deadline and I have exactly
negative time to start deactivating plugins and testing new themes. I don’t
have a child theme, so trying on a new theme will be probably make a hash
of everything. So I’ll just ftp the new files up for now (for Events
Calendar Pro and Community Events). Will I be able to activate them and use
them or will the license key problem bite me?

in reply to: can’t see update on WP Plugin page #1315830

    Thanks Courtney, and happy Fourth!

I’m using a static IP because the site is still under development. It will replace an existing site on a different server, and I can’t transfer the domain name to the new site/server until I’m done working on it.

If I just copy up the new files I downloaded to replace the old ones, will I have a problem activating them because of the license key/static IP issue? I didn’t have a problem getting everything to work the first time around.

    Thanks.

Thanks Courtney. My licenses are active (until May 2, 2018), but I copied and pasted them in the License keys area under Settings again anyway. But I got the message that the key validation server wasn’t available. See screenshot. That can easily cause a problem, right? Is there maybe an issue with your license key validator?

in reply to: can’t see update on WP Plugin page #1312533

Sorry, I’m not going to spend all day doing that. I did see the update for Events Calendar, but not for the other two (PRO and Community Events), so if any other plugin is the problem it should have also affected Events Calendar, is my guess. But it didn’t, so I doubt other plugins are the problem here.

And yes, I know that I can see update notifications in the Dashboard. That’s how I knew to update Events Calendar.

If I just deactivate and delete PRO and Community Events and reinstall I should be ok, correct? Old school update!

PS: I have the same problem with Community Events; see separate ticket

in reply to: can't upload image to community event #1297984

Thanks Victor! I was going to reply with an update but you beat me to it. This did in fact turn out to be an issue with the server; this little problem uncovered a larger issue that they had, and they’re on it. So thank you for that! :=)

I’ll mark this as resolved from my end, and will let you know if I run into any more problems. I have since downloaded the latest versions of Calendar, Calendar Pro, and Community Events and will install and test once the dust settles on the server side.

    Thanks!

    (PS: I *love* this plugin)

in reply to: can't upload image to community event #1296901

Ok, more developments that I hope actual support folks will weigh in on.

I noticed that after my testers tried to upload images to add to an event (and failed), I was no longer able to upload images to the media library myself; and I’m the site administrator. The error message I got in WordPress when trying to add an image to the media library was:

_The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads/2017/06._

So here’s what I think is going on. Users that register so they can add events are assigned the role of Subscriber. Subscribers are able, evidently, to create a draft event post, but my guess is that they may not be allowed to actually save images to the media library. As a result the host’s server may be interpreting that behavior as a hacking attempt and ends up locking down the media library.

Is that (or some variant of it) what’s going on here?

    Thanks!

in reply to: can't upload image to community event #1296838

Ok, I commented out the part in views/community/modules/image.php that added the image selection and uploader to the template, and it all works great now. I don’t want users to post crappy images anyway :=), and it makes the form shorter too, which I like.

It’s the <div> section between the two calls to do_action() in that file. Screenshot attached (can’t upload code).

YMMV – I can’t promise it will work for you.

(Yep, it worked – thanks Geoff!)

in reply to: title above calendar #1278158

Thanks Geoff! I was going to check with Divi next 🙂

I LOVE the calendar. Just beautiful work. Since I have you on the phone,
so to speak, do you know if there’s a way to colorcode the event titles on
the calendar? I couldn’t find anything in the knowledge base. I know this
is not for this ticket, so I can open another one if that’s appropriate.

I really really love this plugin, and especially the documentation (and,
now, support)! I wrote a lot of documentation in a previous life, so I
know a good product when I see it 🙂
