LindaParticipant
Yeah, thanks I had figured out the Yoast bypass just after I posted here. The remaining question I have still remains unanswered.
How can I change the featured images size shown for events to 1120×500? Currently the featured image dimensions do not appear to be respecting the stock featured image size in my functions.php file.
// Add Image Sizes. add_image_size( 'featured-image', 720, 400, TRUE );
The plugin you mentioned hasn’t been updated in 2 years. Also, I don’t see the need. I could easily change the dimensions of the featured image in the functions.php, but this size is not being respected by the events featured images.
LindaParticipantI just changed my mind obout this. I think the only thing I want to do is change the event featured image dimensions to 1120×500 and have the image cropped from top and bottom which is the way I think it’s normally done. The image is centered vertically and then cropped from top and bottom, correct?
Question: What dictates the size of the thumbnail shown in a facebook link when the featured image is pulled when pasting a link?
For instance, with this image, you can see that the featured image is cropped. Obviously the crop is not ideal.

Where as, the crop in this featured image when I post is look good. Looks like the image is scaled down perfectly.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, I don’t need Event End date. I need functions for two separate things:
One. Event Start Date
Two. First Event ID of Recurring Events.
Can you please provide two different functions for these. Also, do you have any hook or filter to check it before event start loading?LindaParticipantI just disabled all plugins to verify that there was not a plugin conflict. However, the keyword search field and the “find events” button are not showing. This is the view with all plugins disabled.

LindaParticipantCliff,
You raise some valid points that I did not consider because I simply did not realize that some of those sections were not available to every user.
Now that I understand, “earlier” and “later” makes perfect sense. *BUT* that is only because now I understand. I didn’t before, so it needs to be clear for the newbies.
Perhaps this would be less ambiguous?
Below Details (Top)
Below Details (Bottom)When I saw Earlier/ Later, I had no clue whatsoever. It started me thinking in abstract terms. If I saw top/bottom, then I would have clue and would likely just test right there and be like… ahh … ok I see now.
LindaParticipantCliff, Although it’s not labeled as such, I see the section where you post info in the wordpress editor as the description of the event. So, intuitively, I would probably say:
“Below Description (above details block)”
Then for the other one, what you have is perfect:
“Below Details (below Related and Tickets)”
You did a good thing for your customers. Thank you!

LindaParticipantDude, I could kiss you. That worked like a charm. I think this is going to make a lot of people very happy.
Question:
What’s the difference between?
“TEC Single: Below Details (Earlier)”
and
“TEC Single: Below Details (Later)”

LindaParticipantA couple of after thoughts…
If you could make it possible to insert a widget area after the description, my problem would be solved.
If you could make it so that most of the elements on the events pages could be toggled on or off by default in the events settings, and then could be added via a widget area, that would be the next best thing to a drag and drop page layout designer.
For instance, if I could disable the event info block in display settings and then add that same event info block via a widget area exactly where I wanted it.
LindaParticipantThis plugin is totally a step in the right direction and I could see how it could be very helpful. However, it really doesn’t give me the kind of control that I have with the rest of the website using Beaver Builder. I really wish that your plugin fully supported Beaver Builder. Then the components on the page could be moved around with ease.
Going forward, how can I insert a widget area in the slot specified in this screenshot below. I can register the widget in Genesis, butI would need direction no how to call the widget in the location I want in the events template. Can you help?

LindaParticipantBeen thinking about this. I wonder if I could register a widget area and then have it inserted below the event details of the events template?
I’m using Genesis framework. I can handle registering the widget area, but will need the code and direction on how and were to insert it so that I can insert this form on every event details page.

LindaParticipantPlease don’t close this thread. I have not gotten to this yet.
LindaParticipantThanks. I think your documentation should state that as well. I don’t believe it does.
