Have now downgraded to version 4.4.1 and all working. This was our version before upgrade to 4.6. Please investigate what’s happened and why not working in 4.6?

Can I ask where I copy this code to the functions.php of my theme?

Have tries copying all code and it crashes site which I then have to undo?
