Just to follow up that I have updated to latest version of plugin and still not working. I will deactivate some plugins to test and report back if I find anything but feel this needs urgent attention since I don’t really use many plugins on my site and those I do are very well known so this is likely to affect many users.

    Hi,

I’m having the exact same problem as described here. I would appreciate any information anyone is able to give as this plugin has always worked previously with my theme and plugins and only had an issue on most recent update. I have less plugins than I used to and don’t use plugins unless they are widely used and popular so this is likely to be affecting many people I would imagine.

    Hi,

Yes that was the same process I was following and I got all the success messages but it would still not retain the licence key. I have tried again this evening and this time it worked and the update became available to download in the plugins.

    Thanks

    Hi Brook,

OK I can confirm that the emails are being sent, there was just a delay. I agree that for RSVP it does generate a ticket# and QR code for checkin which could be confusing. The ticket type is waiting list however and I would hope that people would understand that they are not confirmed as coming in such circumstances.

If there was some way to edit RSVP feature so that they don’t get this ticket# or QR code or a different email is sent as you suggest that states ‘Thanks for registering for the waiting list’ that would be great, is this something that can be done easily?

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Seems I spoke too soon. All working fine but when I add another ticket type called Waiting list with RSVP option the email is not generated to the customer like it says. Their details however are stored in the backend. I’ll ask someone else to test this feature too just to double check. It’s not the end of the world if they don’t receive the email as their details are at least being captured.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Please ignore earlier message. It seems I need to have Event Tickets plugin installed as well as the Plus plugin installed (did not realise). The link where the error message appears actually links the main calendar plugin which is partly why I was confused.

I can confirm all updated and working fine, even with latest WordPress 4.4. Can also confirm that I am able to add another ticket type to a sold out event, call it waiting list and select RSVP option instead of WooCommerce and it wil allow mo collect names and email addresses of people wanting to join the event.

Impressive work everyone, really pleased I switched to this from Event Espresso. I’ll certainly be updating my Event Tickets plus subscription every year if you carry on like this.

    Thanks

    Hi Brook,

Yes I think that answers all my questions. I will upgrade from WooTickets to the new ticketing plugin today and then update the calendar plugin. Interesting to hear that RSVP can be used as a form of waiting list. I think you should be making a bigger deal about this as waiting lists are a feature so many people request and I know for example Event Espresso don’t have the feature. As mentioned there are waiting list options from WooCommerce themselves but it’s a charged addon and is designed to work with products and I know from reading other forum posts that it does not work with your ticketing option without some tweaking.

    Thanks

    Hi Brook,

Thanks for your reply. Since I’ve been very pleased with version 3 of the calendar I’ll certainly wait a week or two before upgrading in the hope of a further update to fix any known bugs.

I’m coming to this plugin from event espresso which I’ve used for years with many headaches. Very often their updates caused major issues with my site and that added to how poor their plugin was in terms of mobile responsiveness led me to look elsewhere.

I’m curious about the update process you refer to when you say manually and simultaneously. You seem to be indicating that to update the core calendar plugin followed by the ticketing plugin could cause issues. So what is best practice? Do I disable current ticketing plugin altogether, then update calendar, then install new ticketing plugin? Or do I update to new ticketing plugin first. Please clarify the steps you recommend since I’m keen to ensure I don’t get problems once I upgrade.

I assume that the fact that the existing ticket sales are stored in woocommerce itself means disabling and deleting existing ticketing plugin will not lead to loss of sales information? Will existing events still show the same amount of unsold tickets when the update is complete?

On a final point can you explain the rsvp feature in the new version 4? I’m not sure I understand how this feature is helpful for those of us using the ticketing add-on. One feature missing from the event calendar I’d like to see is waiting lists. Ice read other forum posts and articles where people say various waiting list plugins for woocommerce don’t work because events are considered tickets and not products. Apparently you can make tickets products to force the waiting list to work but if adds a stage to the check out process. I’m wondering if rsvp can somehow be used in lieu of waiting lists? If an event is sold out are people still able to rsvp in version 4 of the plugin?

    Thanks in advance.

    Gary
