ParticipantHi George,
I followed the steps you originally requested exactly and provided exactly the info you wanted. Do I understand correctly that the results were of no use? Please help me understand.Regarding your new questions and requests: Our WordPress multisite installation is standard, in that the plug-in must be updated at the network level and, when it is, affects all websites in the installation. We have more than 60 sites on that network and others outside it. Many include the calendar.
Therefore, when we update to the latest instance of the calendar, all sites running the calendar lose all events for the current month and many events for previous months.
This is of great concern because the calendars are the second-most visited pages on those websites. They are in heavy use.
So no, there is no way to break just one website in the network.
I have already sent you the debug information today for the Houston website. It was not helpful?
I’m not sure where we go from here. Any thoughts?

ParticipantNote: The URL for the Houston church isn’t a good example, as it turns out.
I have re-installed the earlier version of the calendar, after sending you the debug info, to restore calendars on our clients’ websites.

ParticipantWe’ve taken the recommended steps and, as a result, events are not displaying on the calendars on our websites.
Here is one URL where you can see the problem: http://unitynorthhouston.org/events/
If you navigate back to September, you’ll see some events displaying, but not all that should be there.I changed the wp-config.php file as recommended. Here are the errors showing on this site:

ParticipantI should mention that we are running the latest versions on a site that is not in the network, and that’s working fine. It’s the multi-site installation that’s not working when we install the new version of the events calendar.
crharrison
ParticipantA change in the tag for event titles caused us to have to revert to an earlier version a few months ago. All of our sites have shadowed head text, so event titles became unreadable when we installed the new version then. We were unable to resolve it and reverted for that reason.
All other trouble-free plug-ins, WordPress, and our themes are running current versions, and our sites are pretty much perfect.
We’ll go ahead and follow your suggestions after we notify our 80 clients in advance that their “stable, fatal-error-free” calendars will not be working while we wait for support from the fine folks at The Events Calendar’s support website.
crharrison
ParticipantWe were unable to resolve issues with earlier updates, which is why we’re running outdated versions. We really would like to update; however, we don’t think it’s going to serve our clients well to have their calendars all blank while we wait for a support response and a fix. Is there an upgraded support version, where you work with us one-on-one to get this fixed without messing up 10+ clients’ calendars?
We’re running the current version of WordPress.

ParticipantThanks, Casey.
HERE ARE MY FOLLOW-UP QUESTIONS: Our client wants volunteers to be able to add events to the calendar (in draft status) and then review those events before posting. She has set up “organizers.” Does she need to add these folks as “users” in order for them to be able to sign in and post events? If she adds them as “users,” what permission level should they have to limit their access to event postings only? Can she uses the “organizer” function of Events Calendar Pro to accomplish her objective, or does she have to have the Community Events add-on (which we’ve purchased twice but can’t use because of conflicts)?
I know the usual process for testing for conflicts, and it’s a good one if a site is not online.
However, we can’t deconstruct and reconstruct a site that’s online and in use, with web visitors filling out forms, purchasing tickets, downloading audio files, etc. That would be a terrible disservice to our client.
For now, we’re staying with the older version of The Events Calendar. We’re also planning to move the site out of WordPress MultiSite so that issues we experience with add-ons to the calendar do not affect 60+ sites.
You’re right — it’s been frustrating. Also HUGELY expensive in terms of time… but we still love the calendar.

ParticipantI was able to fix the problem with pop-up titles being unreadable by disabling the “enable shadow” setting for headlines in the Mantra theme text settings. However, that means I lose that nice design feature across all pages on the site, and I have to change that setting in 60 websites.
It seems the new version of the calendar displays event titles as headlines rather than links. Is that correct? Is there a way to change that back to the way it was in the previous version?crharrison

ParticipantYes, tried that first.
