Michael StenitzerParticipanthi geoff,
we’ve already read the good news on the wpml list đŸ™‚
please give us a few days to test in our staging environment.we will come back to you asap.
michael
Michael StenitzerParticipanthi andras,
i want to give you a short heads up after the latest plugin updates:
* the venue issue seems to be resolved. thank you!
* the language switcher issue for recurring events (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/translating-event-series-breaks-url/) is partly resolved. the language switcher works now, but URLs of the translated series do not show the english slug for the content type defined in the WPML -> settings -> post type translations. it works for normal events. no links broken, language switcher works, but the URL contains a string in the wrong language.if you want me to open a new issue for this let me know.
thanks, michael
Michael StenitzerParticipantany news on our issues?
michaelMichael StenitzerParticipantthanks for your update.
the other issue was that linked in my post: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/translating-event-series-breaks-url/cheers, michael
Michael StenitzerParticipanthello andras,
we actually hoped to see this and the other issue resolved in the june release.
it has been october that we reported the translation issues. for our client this is really a crucial issue. what are your plans to resolve this?
cheers, michael
Michael StenitzerParticipanthallo andras,
thanks for your fast respond. i know, we keep you busy, but in the end i hope we can soon resolve all pending issues and all will be happy đŸ˜€
i’ll let you know if we decide for a rollback.
cheers, michael

Michael StenitzerParticipanthi barry,
yes, thats a correct description of the remaining (core) problem.
i understand the situation regarding 3rd party plugins.
but as wordpress has no I18N support (thats a real pity and one of the central problems with wordpress) and WPML is the most common plugin to deal with that requirement, a complicance between plugins and WPML is essential for many websites.thanx for your support, michael
Michael StenitzerParticipanthappy easter andrĂ¡s,
i could figure out the last issue mentioned in #post-1491591. for any reason the WPML value of “_EventRecurrence” has been automatically reset to “don’t translate” instead to “copy”. [1] i don’t know when and why this happened, but for sure it has been not done by us (intentionally). it happend on all two staging servers and on production. so I guess it might have happened during an plugin upgrade very recently.
i was asking myself if there is a documentation for all the system fields for the events manager and how they should be configured in WPML. i found that list, but that seems not complete nor does it mention the WPML settings.
translation of recurring events now works again but the original problem of this thread still exists.
/michael
Michael StenitzerParticipantyes, andrĂ¡s. we follow the correct workflow. and it used to work until recently.
michael
Michael StenitzerParticipanthi andrĂ¡s,
we currently at 4.6.13 & 4.4.24.2 and it turned out that recently the translation workflow failed in a new way: we are still using the same workflow like described in the first post of this thread. but now the translation “looses” recurring events and is not a series any more.
* the canonical language event consists of a series of 5 recurring events
* the translation consists of just the first event of the seriesi don’t know if its related or a new bug.
/michael
Michael StenitzerParticipanti can confirm that your fix works fine.
thx for your help, michaelMichael StenitzerParticipantThis reply is private.
