ParticipantHello. This topic is a continuation of an old one, posted in the wrong forum section and closed because I wasn’t answering for a time (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/organizer-error/).
With the last update, I still got the issue. The error is:
Erreur
You do not have permission to access the organizer you requested.Note that this error doesn’t appear to impact the event update.
As the support guy asked, I did a screenshot of Access Control options, you can see it here: http://awesomescreenshot.com/0225a41890
Now, the website is in production, so I can’t disable all the other plugins and themes to test conflicts. But I had tested this before it was in production, with all other plugins disactivated and Twenty-fourteen theme enabled. I was getting the error.

ParticipantHey Alain,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
To clarify the issue here, when creating an event via the front-end Community Events submission form you get the error while logged in as an administrator. If you attempt the same thing as a contributor you’re able to submit the event without problem?
Thanks!

ParticipantHello Josh.
I can indeed submit events as a contributor without problem. No error in the offing.

ParticipantHey Alain,
I see you did originally provide the screenshot for the Community Events permission settings that our plugin provides. Do you happen to have any other access control type plugins on your site? These can be used to give different user roles access to different elements that they may normally not have access to.
Also, we did recently release updated versions of the plugins. Ensure that you’re on the latest versions of all of the plugins to see if the issue persists.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi,
I’d like to investigate further but I can’t deactivate other plugins since I cannot access my administration panel anymore… This morning, I tried to update “The Event Calendar” plugin to its new version, but wp-admin/update-core.php sent me a 500 error. The other admin pages are terribly slow to load and sometimes send me a timeout. I tried to re-upload WP and restore original core files but it didn’t fix the problem. I also tried to save the permalink configuration (and restore htaccess file) but I still have the 500 error.
Do you think it could be generated by “The event calendar” plugin update? Because it is the only thing different since it worked…
Thanks in advance.

ParticipantHi again,
An update for The Event Calendar PRO just came out and all my troubles are now solved. I guess my error 500 was indeed caused by the previous update.
Anyway, I still get the initial Organizer error with the last version of plugins.

ParticipantHey Alain,
Very strange on the 500 error. This is the first I’ve seen of that particular issue. It may have been a timeout or memory limit issue during the update process that caused an incomplete download or something.
I’ve tested several different options when creating events and haven’t been able to replicate the issue. A couple of questions:
- Do you have any default settings defined via the options available within Events Calendar Pro? For example, do you have a default Organizer set there for all events?
- Do you notice this happening when setting an event without an organizer? For just one specific organizer? Or for any organizer configuration that you set?
Thanks!
