    Hi,

We’re currently having some issues with recurring events displaying completely different times in the front-end than the times set in (and visible) in the admin.

    The following happened:
    – Our event “AquaSport Totaal” is set to start at 9:00 and end at 11:00. This is set and displayed correctly in the admin, for all recurring instances.
    – In the front-end, this event displays that it starts at 8:00 and ends at 17:00. This doesn’t seem like a time zone issue to us.

When editing the recurring event, saving it and STAYING on the edit page to let it edit all occurrences, the times are now shown correctly. However, this has happened before to other events. When creating them, they show everything correctly, however, in some way, days or weeks later it just starts showing completely different times.

Because this just happens, without somebody editing the event, we would like to know what might be the issue here? The supplied URL is the page where the event is shown, but please know that we fixed it as described above.

    Thank you in advance,

    Hi Marco,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue, though I’m glad that you have a workaround that seems to be working for you, at least for now.

    Just to clarify:

    • You create a new recurring event, the time is displayed incorrectly
    • You edit the event, let it edit all occurrences, and everything displays correctly on the front end

Please let me know if I’m missing something here.  Would you mind taking a screenshot of how you have your event set up in the back end, so that I can test the same scenario on my end?

In the meantime, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
    This is usually because of:

    1.    A conflict with another plugin

    2.    A conflict with your WordPress theme

    3.    A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating

When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.

A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.

The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.

Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:

    1.    Make a backup of your database

    2.    Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)

Also, before going through this process, please update your Events Calendar plugin to the most recent version (v4.6.4)

Let me know how that goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime
