ParticipantI am having the same issue as others with many events getting imported from Facebook with a date of Jan, 1st 1970 instead of the date entered in the Facebook event. Looking at FB event, the date is correct; I edited event in TEC to correct date, but on next import run it imports again as 01/01/1970.
I am using twenty fourteen as theme and have tested for conflict error and found none.

Reporting the same issue as: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/wrong-start-date-1-jan-1970-of-events-imported-from-facebook/March 27, 2017 at 12:23 pm #1260493Victor
MemberHi Susan!
Thanks for reaching out to us and I’m really sorry you are having this issue. 🙁
Unfortunately, this is a known issue so I linked this thread to the bug report so the team will let you know when the bug fix is released in a future version.
The issue seems to be only when Event Update Authority is set to “Import events but preserve local changes to event fields.” I know it’s not ideal, but in the meantime if setting another option works for you I would encourage to do so.
You can get to that setting in Events > Settings > Imports tab under the Event Update Authority and you should select one of the other options to prevent the issue.
Let me know if any other questions.
Best!

ParticipantIt seems that the recent updates no longer have an option for preserving the most recent change whether that is local or source and that is a critical issue for me!
I can’t use the overwrite option because then all of the categorizing that I’ve done is erased.
I can’t use the don’t import option because then all of the updated information from the source isn’t imported.
I always used the last option when it was preserve most recent but now it is only indicating preserve local changes to event fields and I need it to import the changes made at the source AND preserve the categories I’ve spread the event thru.
Am I misunderstanding something?
Thanks

ParticipantLet me add, that rolling back to 4.3.5 solved the wrong date issue, and things were smooth until last night. Now my calendar page won’t load at all. It takes forever and ever and ever and never loads anything.

MemberHi Susan!
I’m sorry for taking so long to reply. As you might know most of the team is out this week for the anual team retreat so it may take us more than expected to get back to you.
Regarding the update authority change, I know there have been some changes related to bugfixes in the latest release, but I will get back to the team to review this and let you know the exact state on this.
I’m really sorry you can’t make use of other update authority setting and that you are experiencing that loading issue. I can only imagine how frustrating that can be.
Did you try downgrading to other versions before 4.3.5? From what I can see in your system info you are now using version 4.4.4, do you still experience the issue with this version?
The loading issue seems to be something different from the import bug. When you say “things were smooth until last night.” did you make any changes in the site at that night or before? Are you having this issue with the main calendar or using a shortcode?
Also, could you inspect the calendar page and see if you have any console errors? Here is a guide on how to use the inspector to see that > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-google-chrome-developer-tools/. Or you could provide me with a link to the calendar page so I can do this myself.
Besides the calendar not loading, does the rest of the site have any similar problems? Did you make any customizations in the calendar?
Let us know so we can further assist you with this problem.
Thanks for your patience.

ParticipantI opened another ticket here https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/aggregator-not-preserving-local-changes-on-facebook-import/#post-1263118 with all of the detailed login information and description of issues I’m currently having and what I’ve done to try to resolve. I am going to back out of the conversation on this thread and focus on the other since it has multiple EA issues listed on that thread. If you could take a look at it and respond there I would appreciate it.
Thanks

MemberHi Susan!
Thanks for letting me know about that. I will reach out to the team tomorrow so we can review your case in both threads.
I’ll go ahead and close this one so we’ll reach out to you through the linked thread.
Best!
