ParticipantHello, when trying to page through the list view in a language other than the default (ex: Spanish), the URL looks like “site.com/events/lista/?tribe_paged=2”, and this shows a 404 error page.
Changing “lista” to “list” fixes the issue.
You can see it happening here: http://conservatucasacalifornia.org/events/ and then clicking on “Siguientes Eventos”.
Thank you.

MemberGood evening Robert and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the error 404 message you have been getting.
I would love to help you with this topic. As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

With that in mind, you are right.
I was able to reproduce that bug with the latest version of our plugins and WPML.The good news is that has been identified as a legitimate bug which is now one of our priorities.
Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date for a fix at this point. But you will be contacted as soon as there is one. What I can tell you however, is that we are currently in the process of testing some major WPML compatibility improvement as we are speaking.
We do apologize for any inconvenience this is causing in the meantime.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantHi, is there any news on this? The bug is currently making it impossible for users in other languages to browse through events on our website.
Thank you!

MemberGood evening,
There is an update on this. We managed to find the cause of the issue and to come up with a fix while working hand-in-hand with the WPML team.
To make a long story short, the fix is contingent on a release of a new version of their plugin.
We are following up regularly on this, but as you can imagine, this is unfortunately outside of our control. We can only hope that this will be resolved really soon (for everybody’s benefit).
With that in mind, and to provide a better experience to your users, there is a temporary workaround.
It’s less than ideal, but it works. What you need to do is to make sure none of the url slugs are translated (e.g.: list, venue, organizer).
We are truly sorry about the inconvenience this has caused and we have worked hard with the WPML team to ensure such issues will not happen again.
Have a good week-end,
Geoff B.

ParticipantHi,
I noticed that the latest update to plugins (4.2.5 and Pro 4.2.4) fixed the issue on our staging site. But the production site is still having the problem. All active plugins are the same. I have re-saved permalinks and re-saved WPML language settings. Were there DB changes that could have run on our staging site that did not run on production?
Thank you.

MemberGood evening,
Thank you for writing back. That is a very interesting find.
Can you confirm that the slug for the list view is translated on the staging site as well ?
As per your question, it is possible that there might be some DB update on your staging site that did not make it to your live site.
Before doing anything, I always recommend doing a Database backup. But, you might want to try to:
- Head over to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting page
- Hit up all the buttons in the Clean Up section
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

MemberGood afternoon,
I have some great news. On Friday, WPML released a new version of their plugin that fixes this issue with the list view and most other views (except the map view for now – but we are working on that).
I would recommend upgrading to their latest version so that you can finally use a translated slug.
Best regards,
Geoff B.
