I work for a company that has purchased the community events add-on for one of our client’s sites. They don’t remember their password and I would rather just get an answer from you so I posted here. I have noticed at least 2 other posts in the forums regarding this issue, but I don’t think they were stated clearly. When we ‘block access to WP admin’ and select the role to be blocked, it completely blocks the wp-admin login page, the ONLY way to log in as admin is to go to the add event page which prompts a login there, log in as the admin and THEN we can get to the wp admin dashboard – it completely blocks ANY level from getting to the admin login page – I understand it’s supposed to block the admin bar, but it redirects EVERYONE from the wp-admin login page which becomes a problem if we want the front end users (community) to not have access to the wp dashboard but the admin has to figure out how to get into the administration – just telling them to login as an admin does not tell them how to do that without the login page. We were fortunate to figure it out on our own, but it’s obviously an issue.

    Hi!

I work for a company that has purchased the community events add-on for one of our client’s sites. They don’t remember their password and I would rather just get an answer from you so I posted here.

I’m sorry to hear that – would it be possible for them/you/someone with access to their email account to do a password reset? All they need to do is go here and enter the username or password – is that possible in this case?

When we ‘block access to WP admin’ and select the role to be blocked, it completely blocks the wp-admin login page, the ONLY way to log in as admin is to go to the add event page which prompts a login there, log in as the admin and THEN we can get to the wp admin dashboard – it completely blocks ANY level from getting to the admin login page

It’s a “convenience feature” of WordPress that unauthenticated users accessing the admin environment at …/wp-admin are redirected to the login screen. The canonical means of logging in, though, is to visit …/wp-login.php and I don’t think we interfere with this process at all.

Can you confirm if you are still facing this problem when attempting to use or access wp-login.php?

If you are, it’s probably best to reset your password and we can go into more depth on the forums.

    Thanks – I hope that helps 🙂

Hi! Are you all good here/did you manage to reset your password and login?

I’m having the same issue at labeerbloggers.org – I was removing the plugin altogether in order to access my dashboard, then reuploading it. When I try labeerbloggers.org/wp-admin.php, I get a 404 Page Not Found error.

I originally thought it was an issue with spammers, but I got that under control. I also do have the “Block access to WP dashboard” option selected.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Hi!

We don’t normally deliver support via the pre-sales forum. Would it be possible for you to login and post your question in our PRO forum or, if you have not purchased a license, to take this to our free support forum instead?

    Thanks!

I’ll go ahead and close this thread since I think everyone should be sorted at this point – with that in mind staff will no longer monitor this for further replies and if you need any further help it would be best to create new threads. Thanks!
