WordPress default search not showing current year for events

Hello, how do I have WordPress default search show the current year for events? It shows the year on all past events but not events from this year (2017). For ‘2017’ events it is only showing the month and day.

I’ve commented out that bit of code and waiting to see it take affect.

I’m assuming WordPress may need to re-index in order to show the year or
should it start showing almost instantly?

I’ve logged this as a feature request internally with our developers — to either be a filter or a new setting/option.

I don’t expect it to be implemented right away, but I’d guess it isn’t going to be a big effort to accomplish.

Just wanted to share with you that a new maintenance release (for the Week of 15th May 2017) is out, including an enhancement for this ?

Basically there’s a new filter ‘tribe_events_event_schedule_details_use_yearless_format’ you can use to have more control over the schedule details format. You can browse the code change here.
